I told a Jeep girl on tinder that Toyotas were better. She's hasn't messaged me back, but I don't need that kind of negativity in my life anyways.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
So... I got @Cody23's old bed bars. When I picked them up we noticed the flanges were too short, but I just "assumed" that since they are supposed to work on "all gens", that it was probably just that the 3rd gen has a taller plastic bed edge top, and I would just cut it, use a thin plastic insulator, and could get them to fit... No such luck. On top of the plastic:
    bar_issue.jpg

Directly on top of the bed (plastic strip removed):
    bars2.jpg
So my question is... Does anybody have a welder and the expertise to make these work, or am I just going to clean them up, repaint them, and resell them?

So... Here I am in my garage wire brushing surface rust off these bed bars, and some movement up by the house catches my eye... Now the wife is in Leesburg all day, so I know it isn't her... A close look reveals (Sorry for the quality of the pic, but I didn't want to get too close):
    Bear.jpg
Now this is MUCH bigger than the bear that on my deck last month... Maybe the mama bear?

I started hollering, and it just stared at me... Didn't seem concerned with me at all. Shit! By the time I got in the house and got my pepper ball gun, she was gone...
