I really don't care how high the lift is as long as the tires fit well. But I'm really wanting the 285's

I ran the 5100 set at 0 with the OME 888s and it gave me like 2.75” after settling WITH Po Pro bumper and winch.

    But that makes sense

You’ll be able to fit them with 2” or bigger

Get the best tires you buy with that 1500,it should soak most of it up. Save up again for the lift. Truck looks great by the way.

You would be better to have off investing into Bitcoin. No return on the mods you suggest. Chance if return on Bitcoin is higher.

OP for your budget, my opinion you should stay with 265/75r16’s they look good and are cheaper they’ll fit on stock suspension.
285’s look great but to fit them with a $1,500 budget probably not happening, also are you doing the install or a shop bc you’ll have to account for that as well.
The ECGS bushing can fail even on stock trucks is nice to change while you’re down there swapping s**t out but is not a MUST. I did do it on mine as a preventative,

    I run both sets of 265/75 Falkens AT3W and 285/75 KO2’s on 2” lift

Tell me the truth... Which ones look more bad ass? I know everything about them and can't choose. Cost is not an option. Tires that is. What 2" lift?

    I'd suggest you look at 255 85 16 or 255 80 17 tires, depending on your wheels.

Full 33", creates 'real' lift in terms of axle line ground clearance. No need to lift, chop or bang, and you can likely ditch the spacers.

Fills out the wheel wells nicely, and if you ever do actually use the truck off road, it will be more capable than you might guess.

Thanks but I really want the 265/75/16 or the 285/75/16, don't want to get new wheels. The more I read I think now I'm leaning towards the 5100's $340 sounds like a good deal. Does anyone know if I can use my stock springs and leafs with them? Again I have 1/5" wheel spacers. Will the 285's fit with a 2 inch lift?

The 285’s definitely look more bad ass. They will fit with a 2”inch lift, I have a 2nd gen TRD pro lift but it’s discountinued you can’t get it anymore.

They will fit with a 2” inch lift. The 5100 front shocks are adjustable 0-2 inch, you can gain some lift by adjusting but I would recommend new front springs. On the rear you’ll need either an AAL or a spacer/block, only the shock itself won’t give you any rear lift. The $340 only gets you the shocks nothing else, Headstrong sells a kit with springs and AAL for $830 with front strut assembly. You can opt for a rear block instead and it’ll be cheaper. You’ll still need to do the install yourself or pay a shop.

Stick with the 265/75’s and you won’t have to worry about anything.

I've thought about it all. Thanks for the great array of opinions, super helpful. It's wonderful to have a community like Tacomaworld!

I've decided on 5100's with 88?'s and an ? add a leaf. Looking for a 2" or so lift. I've been speaking with Marie at Headstrong and will soon pick a kit. I'll save up for a month and get the 285/75/16 BFG KO2's that I want. With my 1.5" synergy spacers on stock wheels it's going to look and function perfectly.

    Bilstein_5100_Kit_(HS16BK-1).html

What Coils and AAL's should I go with? Help please. Here are my habits...

I'm not going to ever push my truck to the limits, but want to have some good fun and be reliable. (Let the boys know what's up) I want a particular look, BIGish. I drive 22 highway miles round trip to work every day and maybe put 4000 miles on it a year. (family hauler is a 17 Sienna limited) I'll maybe go off road 15 times a year. I still want the ride quality close to stock, nothing to crazy. I have 3 kids under 13 and will be hauling baseball equipment, bikes, and mulch more then anything else. Call me a some weekends warrior.

Oh, I'm a senior master Subaru tech. Install is me"free". This is my first truck. I've been building SCCA WRX STi's for many years. After my last wreck my wife said No More Speed. gotta to listen to the woman

    Thanks Mike

Good decision staying away from RC. Your truck is going to look nice!

Thanks. In the last hour I've decided on 887's and the Headstrong 3 leaf AAL with 5100's. Figured the 887's would be good since I don't tow anything and won't add a bumper or winch. Only added weight will be sliders.

Looks like the Headstrong kit includes the 1/4" spacer to prevent lean, but does it include the front diff drop spacer kit?

When using the link above, does anyone know, when selecting options, what add strut assy or no strut assy means as one of the options?
