For the sake of your body panels, these trails might not be smart for ya then :anonymous:

Like, body damage on harder trails is always possible, but 100% guaranteed your truck gets tin canned without sliders :bananadead:

Sliders are a must on any rig! The protection alone is worth it.

Also makes for a good step in my opinion!

I've been looking in to sliders for about a year now, need to get my suspension figured out and the old stuff on my truck replaced, then it's good to go. My factory skids are barely bolted on right now (thank you previous owner and whatever rust-friendly environment you lived in). Probably not a good idea, but i do need to see what my setup needs next as far as clearance or upgrades goes.

Edit: I already know I need a better departure angle and sliders as with my prior setup it was an issue for both. I messed up my B-pillar and suicide-door on the passenger side on a tree, so there's that, too. I broke the trailer connector on my last off-road trip at HF, So I know I need more rear clearance as well as protection on the sides. I'm strapped for cash getting upgrades, maintenance and repairs caught up.

3rd Edit: I'll get both lower control arms replaced as well as my passenger-side CV boot within the week. That'll be it for repairs minus little things like all the bolt hardware for the factory skids, new mount for trailer hitch and replacement headlights. I'm already planning for the replacements for both of those and then I'll be 100%. The current issue is installing the parts for the CV boot and left control arm and now I need new tires and a 100k service on my Harley (which is my main DD)

Fair enough. With these long of truck, definitely the two more important things imo are tires and sliders. Sliders are just so freakin' amazing

I've seen them in use, and that's why it's the next upgrade. Even before UCAs to get rid of that high-speed wandering shenanigans lol

    Edit: For me... Repairs>Maintenance>Upgrades lol

If my priority list was like yours my truck would probably survive more than a couple days at a time :bananadead:

I know it was a nightmare, but @CedarPark , you remember that run with Heart of Texas that was like 20 vehicles? What trails did we run? I only had one instance where there was almost rubbing on the body, but good lines prevented it. I've got a true 3" lift now, and then I had a spacer lift. Think I'll be okay on 3s and 4s?

Not bad! You have the ability to pass on him til at least next year? I'm not good at ageing these Texas deer, but looks like he still has a lot of potential.
