that is the perfect way to describe it. mine has been done for over a week now and it is still so much better than it was the day I took delivery. I am literally surprised every Toyota dealer in the Country isn't swamped with nothing but TSB fixes. but, half the people that buy these trucks probably don't even realize there is a problem.

Yeah, I did mine about a week ago also. I was afraid it was going to revert back to it's old ways, but so far so good!

I did this today. Took it in for a rear shock with a broken seal, mentioned it to the service consultant and they did the update with no questions asked. Definitely drives like a whole new truck. Would have just gone on without it in the dark if it weren’t for you guys, so thanks!!

Just got mine done. Definitely feels better on the drive home. I'm excited to see what it'll be like when I get it up to freeway speeds and back down. Still some lag on steeper hills, but not nearly as much as before. Haven't tried it with ECT on yet either... Another thing to test.

Glad I came upon this. Taking my 2018 OR in for its 1st service this afternoon. When I made the appointment I asked if they could do the free 10k oil/filter change at 5K. No problem they said. So hopefully they won’t balk at this update.

sortof stock. 6112/5160, pro wheels and a tune.
I had this performed today. Tech drove it, then hooked it up. My impressions at first are- i dont notice anything. Meaning- i dont notice the gear hunting or sluggishness anymore, as it just does what its supposed to. All in all, i didnt notice how neutered it was until they did the update. I will update after i get some miles on it. I suspect I will forget about it- which means it did its job.

Anyone have this done around the OC, in So Cal? If so, which dealership/service advisor?

For those who have done it, did you just go straight to the dealer and ask for the update or call them or make an appointment online? I wanna know what should i do when i bring the truck there. Thanks

Exactly my experience today. Informed the tech that I’m having these issue when I go to the Poconos on the weekends. He said no problem! In and out in an hour with oil change and 5K service.

I always use the same service rep at the dealer so I just sent him an email stating that I was having the issues listed in TSB-0062-18 and wanted the service done on my Tacoma. He responded in 2 hours with a date/time to have it done, very easy.

Hmmm...you wouldn't be talking about Weir Rd would you? Sounds like what I am experiencing on it and about the right distance from Beaverton Toyota. I purchased there but no experience with service yet. Good to know they are stand up. I will probably be requesting the tsb soon or wait for my ToyotaCare 5k/6mo.

Nah, this was off of Murray. I live off Murray/Scholls. Since Beaverton Toyota is on Murray I took it all the way down and hit those 2 or 3 hills in between. Held the gear on each of them. Did the same thing on i5 north of 217 on my way to Leathermans. That long big hill.

Service has been kind of slow, but good. They are always so busy. Probably would help to go Mon-Thurs instead of Friday like I just did ha No pushback from them. They didn’t need to try to replicate it before updating. They know this transmission is wonky.

Great. Thanks for the info. Coincidentally yesterday my sales guy told me they had an MT (which i was initially interested in) since I expressed dissatisfaction with AT after getting to know it. Test drive did not show up these subtle flaws...any oddness I attributed to "it has not learned yet". Trade in my 1 month old SR5 for a TRD sport. Highly unlikely they will make it attractive enough to do that...TSB fix probably a better option...but i'm listening. Always been an MT guy. I think this was a mistake but if TSB works as well as folks claiming, i could learn to like it. (though it looks like MT folks have their own set of problems lol).
Beaverton Toyota batting 1000 so far. Was my decision to chance an AT.
ps. I am at top of Weir on Cooper Mtn. Drive that hill everyday. ECT helps. I5 yesterday gave me probs..shifting all over the place.

I'm at sea level all the time here in San Diego and it was still a huge help. Feels like there's more power applied with less foot movement. And the shifts seems much smoother. I have power more readily now. Definitely not the same as ECT.

Got the TSB with my 10000 mile checkup and, guess what, NOW I'm getting the occasional stumble from a full stop. I've never felt that there were many issues with the tranny, so if this keeps up I'm gonna inquire about having them go back to the previous settings.

Toyota of Chula Vista. Told them it was feeling laggy when I hit the accelerator and said I heard there was a TSB to fix that issue. Gave them the TSB and they fixed it. Took em 3 hrs...but it got fixed!

Great service, never gives me any hassle. Had my truck in last week for 0062-18. Significant improvement in smoother shifting.
