if you help him with compressing the struts. wrap a recovery strap around the spring and the compressor(so that if heaven forbid it slips, you still have all you digits.) If i was home i would help or you could come to barksdale AFB and use the shop with me, they have a nice air powered compressor, takes more time to get the nut off then to compress the strut.

come september ill be looking to go to the hi lifter park, Red knows how we do it.

for all you lsu fans out there...90 days and 5 hours to lsu football!! I'm a mississippi state fan so hopefully we can pull off an upset this year after chad jones single handedly beat state last year:eek:

Anyone plan on making the road trip to ATL to see the first game against north carolina??

I'm contemplating it. Depends on work really. I'm "supposed" to be working in Texas, so a flight to ATL might be more efficient for me. And I was at that game in Starkville last year. Un-freakin-believeable! :D The goal-line stand happened right in front of me, about 10 rows and a sideline down to be exact.

Where is the Barksdale AFB? I'm mechanically inclined, but have zero experience with shocks. You really sound like you know what you're doing.

Good luck w/Bama tickets. Better look online and not walk the stadium if the crowd is anything like this past season's Florida game (which I expect it to be.) I've heard of Dunham, I used to coach in 2A.

    shreveport La,

also i am deployed right now. i would help you when i get back in september. but if you do not want to wait or do it just pay a shop (~50) for the job. it is easy to do though.
1.just put the spring compressor on, one on each side of the spring.
    2. wrap recoevery strap/or ratchet strap around whole assembly twice.
3 use tools/airtools to compress spring EVENLY.
    4. release top nut
    5. back off spring EVENLY
    6. repeat for reassembly.
