I was up at 3:45 myself. I'll wait until this afternoon to shoot - my mother-in-law's house is about 125 yards from the shooting bench. Don't want to upset the Fam. :)

Not going to lie, my OCD keeps me from building a FDE rifle cause there are so many shades that it’s nearly impossible to get them all to match.

By the way, before anyone thinks I screwed up...I probably did...but I know the scope is set way forward. I just slammed it and the MBUS sights on for the pic last night. The sights are backwards. It all has to come off to adjust the gas plug and I'll set the eye relief once that's done.

Just as an FYI: I've mentioned it before, but I'm a fan of Brownells Alumahyde (if color matching is at all important to you). I don't care enough to color match my rifles, but I have done complete color changes on several just to test the product and for some variety. With proper prep it holds up extremely well and is much cheaper than getting professional cerakote or other firearm coatings. I even did the slide on a Glock and am impressed with the durability.

UPDATE: She shoots like a dream. Got the gas block adjusted after 6 to 8 rounds. Then sighted in the scope. All in all, she's a nice shooter with light recoil. Can't wait to get the LaRue trigger!!

Ar lower forgings are all made in only a couple of places any way. There is zero difference in how they are machined. Company XX, Company YY Company ZZ all put them in a CNC machine and use the exact same CAD file. Wasting money on a spider or a skull engraving makes zero sense.

Yep, although I really do like the fit of Aero Precision stuff, the AR10 I built using un-matched receivers was a tight but not too tight, no wiggle.

    I like my engraving though.

There are way too many "elite operators" out there who assume price = quality and who beat on anyone who would dare opt for something other than the brands they choose. I'm at the point where I just like to stir the pot. I left M4 Carbine.net over that "we know all" attitude. I made the mistake of posting a thread about my first build - I'd ordered a PSA kit - and one of the mods locked the thread as a"facebook" post. In the end, they are just self-righteous a**holes who run a site that caters to their own opinions and blathering...as I like to call it, a self-licking ice cream cone. I found some of the same attitude when I was competing in Vintage Sniper Matches. My partner and I used WWII Soviet Mosin Nagant snipers and the 1903/Garand crowd would always rail against the quality of the SOviet mass-produced rifles...and then we'd score better than most and they'd shut up. The average person will do just as well with an average rifle as with a high priced version. And the better than average person will do better than average with a low priced rifle. It's the quality of the shooter that determines the majority of the outcome. My PSA upper/CMMG lower M4 has been flawless and accurate and the new PSA lower/Aero Precision upper appears to be the same after putting 50 rounds through it yesterday. I have no issue if people want to spend the money to buy whatever make/brand they want. For some reason, though, these people seem to think they have the right to tell me how to spend my money. I'll take anyone's advice...but in the end I get to make my own decision.
