Not cool man. Not like anyone that is being surveilled would be on this forum, but still... not cool.

It’s not an unmarked police vehicle. An unmarked is something anyone can recognize but it takes a bit longer. They have lights, a spotlight, etc. and are used for traffic enforcement or similar tasks. The vast majority of times there is an officer inside with a uniform.

The original picture posted shows the rear 3/4 view of a surveillance truck. Usually even other officers don’t know what these look like. They can be almost any make or model. They have cameras and other items and are used for real undercover work and surveillance of high risk targets. The picture had the license plate in it, although it may not have been really clear.

Even a confirmed photo of the truck itself could cost a department a pretty penny if they needed to replace it, and by extension, the taxpayers of that jurisdiction.
So yeah, cool but not cool. That’s all.

Ladder rack looks taller than usually, maybe I'm not use to seeing Leer utility caps. I'm suspicious of any unmarked utility vehicle, some vehicles stick out, and can look out of place. Also, don't wash it, it will look more inconspicuous dirty. Although most likely illegal an Orkin Tacoma, would be less noticeable. Given enough time, someone could probably find this truck on the upfitters social media page, provided they posted it.

It also needs some dents, scratches, reflective tape and one of those orange strobes on the roof.

Always suspicious of a work truck with a non used brand new ladder on it. Perfectly clean and unused tube too. lol

Indeed they could make it look like the local DPW fleet vehicles, or for less money use the exact vehicle from the DPW fleet order, provided that municipality has DPW vehicles. They could also repurpose an existing DPW vehicle to use as a surveillance vehicle.

Joe Pesci voice: Why yous got such a long tube on top your truck? yous watching me or something?

Don't you usually move the over hang forward over the cab to avoiding hitting things while backing?
