Good to know; I was looking at Mobtown to see the prices.
Yeah, I just looked at SOS and noticed he doesn't have a lead time on his & the sliders haven't shipped yet...:anonymous: I just wish his had the access door for oil changes; it would be nice to not have to drop the skid everytime once I do it myself.

I feel like getting steel would be the smarter move in the long run over aluminum so I don't have to worry about it getting destroyed and dented fast. Kinda like what I'm doing to my Pro skid.

A little thicker than the pro skids. Haha. My thoughts were this. The aluminum will be find for 95% of the stuff I do. And if I smashed that up so bad I'm stuck on a trail, I've got other issues. With that being said weight is a factor for me considering how heavy I ride with all my gear on my long trips.

If I was out playing every weekend on a rig used just for wheeling hard trails, then I'd have considered steel.MVIMG_20180812_165241.jpg IMG_20180812_165359.jpg IMG_20180812_165408.jpg

Can't believe it but sold my PS2 and all the games and accessories for 230 dollars today. Now shopping for a mobile took storage workbench. Might get one from fb marketplace.

The weight is a huge thing cause it's not a @tacobell007 silver special; but I've already dented the pro skid twice and I haven't run any insane trails. So I feel like buying steel could be a 1 and done purchase vs aluminum but then you have the extra weight (For Mobtown at least it was 77 vs 152 lbs).

That skid actually looks fairly similar to the Pro which is 1/4" thick. Do you have it as just the bare aluminum? I was looking to get a Transfer skid and mid/trans skid and if I want to do that I need to get a matching IFS skid from what I've been seeing. I was ideally hoping to just add the other 2 to what I have.

How much extras/games did you have? I wouldn't have guessed that for a PS2

Yeah I kept it bare. I'll end up doing all three. But if you're already dented the other 1/4 maybe go with the steel.

Mine has a cut out for the drain plug. The sliders were at an 8 week lead time when y'all ordered them

So you can get around the skid to get to it then it has the oil to drain through tube or not. I know that; I was just getting bad ideas of seeing if I could add skids to the order since they have no lead time so it would all be shipped together & save $$ :bananadead:

Changed the oil and filter today and finally got the Furmoco valve that I've had on my desk for a month installed!
I added a better ground to my CB antenna mount and it did improve my SWR.
Add seat lifts, still no opinion on this Mod yet. It seems better but I've only driven a couple of miles.
I need to get some time on this before I'm a full positive.

8 weeks on everything right now I'm pretty sure. Less effort to make the skids up honestly

The skid page doesn't mention it but, I see it on a lot of other items so it could have not gotten updated. If that's the case it just saves me from spending the $$ now

Interesting observation about tax free day...the state limit was $2500 for zero tax...so if you work the invoice just right...with secondary charges for "Other items" you can squeeze it all under the limit...Despite the up front cost I am looking forward to the switch from wood to pellets...I figure since I moved in in 2003...we've been through 14 winters with at least 3 cords of wood per winter, as many as SIX one winter...and the tree hunting after storms on craigslist...using my chainsaw and truck everywhere I could...I figure I've personally stacked and carried and sometimes split over 50 cords of wood since 2003...The first year I got tendonitis in my fore arms because I had ZERO experience chopping wood and did it all wrong...and last fall I got a "golfers elbow" in november from stacking wood by picking up a log in each hand and stacking it by doing palm down curls of the wood..that hurt for 4 months. There's the endless piles of bark and dirt tracked everywhere that my wife is very excited to be rid of...There's also the "Oh shit the fire went out" when you get home from work in February, it's 2 degrees outside and your livingroom is 48F because the fire is out...probably at least 1 hour a day from mid-November through mid march is dedicated to the wood stove fire...I'm always thinking...geez..this is first world, best case scenario here. We have everything we need we just get our heat from wood...Imagine what it was like in the 1800's around here..and then I realize I don't have it so bad...

But still, bring on the pellets! I will miss the 'heating up a burrito wrapped in foil' on the wood stove top...But we have a generator so the pellet stove can keep on trucking.

Try some different types of pellets before you commit to a few tons. Not all pellets are the same. Heat/ash/hardwood/softwood/blend

The Home Depot and Lowe’s pellets are usually shit and make a TON of ash.

We eventually settled on okanagon platinums for heat value for dollar with very little ash. We’d go through one 40# Bag a day versus 2-2.5 bags a day with the inferior products.
You can usually negotiate free shipping from the pellet suppliers when you tell them you’re shopping their competitors.

Might just be he can bang those out easier than the bumpers or sliders

If you have SOS sliders on order then I'd recommend sticking with them for the skids too. Sometimes when you use different brands they want to mount in the same location as the other product. Ask me how I know

Are his just one long plate going back if you get the other 2 or his in pieces like most others?

Good to know, maybe I'll shoot him an email for curosity sake :bananadead: must resist the urge:spending:

    These are amazing http://www.rfvermont.com/wp/green-mtn-pellet/

Virtually no ash, never had any that good before. But the dealer here that had them only did for one year. He wasn't able to get them again, so they might be nearly impossible to find.

Also had pretty good luck with Maine Woods pellets. Not as good as those Green Mountain ones, but way better than the cheap ones from big box stores.
