That's funny, Solo is the one who said it had to be done.

This is the spot in question.

I suppose you could locate the rack farther forward and not have to do this step, although I didn't try.

Have you seen the trucks solo did? they notched for the intermediate shaft not boots. But hey, you got it done that’s all that matters but I still don’t see how the extra work came from booties. @snowsk8air2 stop tagging me lol

No, I haven't, and I'm also mid travel, so the geometry may be a little different.

Without that notch the boot gets pinched between the inner tie rod end bolt and the frame in that spot and shreded.

I'm stock axle. Even with a sua kit and extended travel shocks?

Is it run down the length of the link, or above the axle and droops down?

Yep, just have a zip tie holding t out of the way so it doesn't get pinched as the suspension cycles.

Are you using the stock length cable? I'm at 18" travel so I'm wondering if I can keep the stock one and maybe just reroute it, or if I will need to custom make a cable length.

    One zip tie, stock cable

Pretty sure DMZ says to drill the bracket hole out and mount it to the front leaf cross over bolt. Didn't see that part until later and have been too lazy to move itIMG_2757.jpg

Decided to go a whole different path and have this rear setup for sale. Archive Mounts and 2.5x14" triple bypasses, all fits without cutting into the bed of the truck. Made for 05+ shortbeds, DM if you are interested

I would like to pose a question to the log travel natives. Who makes the best bumpstops and why? If there is a thread on this already I apologize. I’m searching now lol

This article has some good info. King and ADS are the winners in this comparison.

Finished up the bedside modification. No more removing bumper and tail lights.

I got out my tin snips and scavenged a small piece off my old fenders. You can see in the photo it has the plastic clips the two tail light studs snap into.

I also no longer have to drive around with zip tied broken tail lights.
