No issues with my Sport. However, if you are spending ~40K you should get what you want.

Really depends on what you're using it for. If you don't intend on going off road, getting a 4x4 sport would be more than sufficient. Plus the sport looks better than the OR with the hoodscoop. I personally didn't like the rims either and switched my rims to the TRD Sema wheels.

If you do intend on going off road, that's where all the added OR features will come into play and be important.

See what fits into your lifestyle. I personally never do much off roading, so the sport is more than I will ever need.

It was easy for me because I needed a access cab long bed and manual trans.

    That’s so funny I literally LOL’d.

OP, good choice in finding what you want. Buy the truck you like and keep it for many years.

I went in wanting to buy the exact same truck you did. DCSB OR in cement. They had an MGM Sport 6MT on the lot and they offered me a deal I couldn’t refuse. I LOVE my truck. I thought the first time I saw a cement OR after buying mine I’d be jealous. I see one every day on my commute to work and there’s not one bit of jealousy. It’s a beautiful truck, but I have zero regrets in what I got. (I’m also in the north east)

I HAD to have a manual transmission AND a 72" bed and the TRD sport was the only way to get that. It really infuriates me that those options are somehow coupled. I really wish I could have bought an OR. But I am thankful that they even offered the sport in my desired config. Overall its a great truck though and after spending a few hundred dollars on some 5100s she off-roads just as well as anything. You also get a "free" TRD Pro hood which is a nice if your going ProBro.

It all depends on where you will do the majority of your driving. I felt that driving the OR on-road felt sway-ish. Some disagree. So far my sport has done great on moderate off roads. I dont go too crazy haha

Same here. I have also noticed that the sport handles a lot nicer on road. Especially after a shock upgrade it corners very flat and is responsive

No regrets here! Looks nicer imo, handles better on road and is perfectly capable off road. That said, the OR is a fine truck and I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

To your point about spending the same money for the sport and OR, I've discussed elsewhere on TW the illusion of additional value with extra nobbies and switches. If you use them, then they add value, but if you're just getting them to look at, then they do not add value.

If I had to do it over again I'd get the same truck I got, sport 4x4.

Back when I was young and stupid, rather than being old and stupid like now, we didn't have internet, cell phones or GPS. I found myself in a lot of situations I didn't want to be in. Like walking through the woods in the dark to find a phone or paying a tow truck to haul me out of the muck. I became a firm believer in the adage: It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. That's why I chose the OR with rear locker I've never needed, added a winch I've never used, added traction boards, ground anchor, hi-lift jack, etc. All never used. But if I ever do need any of it, it's there. I'm too old for 10 mile hikes in the dark.

The only thing I don't like about my Sport is it doesn't have the built-in clinometer.

Every time I see a thread dedicated to Sport Vs. Off Road I am reminded of Democrats vs. Republicans.... We all have our opinions and think WE are RIGHT and the other guys are sadly mistaken :deadhorse:

To me “Sport” sounds a lot cooler than “Off-Road”

In central NY most of the dealers have the sport in cement its seems that the OR in cement is a tough on the find. You said you've located what your looking for, you should lock up the deal before its gone.

What do you guys think about pricing?

2018, Cement, DCSB OR with premium and tech package and tube steps / mudguards/ door sill protector.

THe MSRP is 41,701 and USAA is quoting me 38,670 (not including my military discount). I've heard of people getting these for around 36k, is that insane or possible?
