Nah, I'll likely leave my truck as is, unless I can find an answer about current maps available to us (like 1.04) and 1.05 (is this the "power map" everyone kept talking about or just an updated drivability map?) for 04B13.

Seems to me from what I'm reading pre-coffee like I'd just be having Toyota flash my vehicle to an approximation of what the 87 oct tune is right now (I'm running 1.04A 91), and so I'd be missing out on the mid range power/torque gains that I've been enjoying.

But what I'm trying to figure out is if @OVTune is going to release 1.05 or whatever updates as planned for all ECU versions, or if it's just in my best interests to wait until he releases and then have my dealer update me to 04B13 and then flash whatever Mat released for 04B13. I'm currently 04B12

Do the dealer flash first then the OV if you like. If you flash with OV first then the dealer flash will just overwrite any benefit from the OV tune.

So my understating from that is that you don't need to get the Toyota update, 1.05 will include those changes. So you can update to 04B13 now if you want, but no tune is currently available for it or wait for 1.05 and get the 04B13 update included with the tune (no dealer required).

Anyone in the Phoenix area that has the tactrix cable? Any possibility of meeting up for 10 mins so I can flash the new toyota update?

this is correct, but when you say "no tune is available yet" remember that we're talking about the new factory tune file here. it's not an OV enhanced tune, which is what you're saying i guess. so once OV works over the new 04B13, then yes, you can just flash the new OV file and get the new base. but doing it now, speaking for myself, is the right move because this was about driveability all along, and the driveability with 04B13 is the best yet, hands down. so i don't mind waiting for OV enhancements, but I'm not waiting for the new base. it's worth the effort.

I'm already ovtuned, any update from the dealer will automatically constitute an overwriting of benefit. What I was trying to establish is if the same updates that are coming will be available for my own ECU version for example (04B12), or if I should be updating to 04B13 and then to whatever is released by Mat in order to take advantage of whatever he releases. Because I don't know if there will be anything specifically about his forthcoming 04B13 maps that are just better than what ends up released for 04B12

Noted. I've had zero issues with any of the map iterations that have been released to date, so I'm confortable with just waiting for Mat's forthcoming map release since you guys have established that includes the update to 04B13.

I'm currently on 1.04A 91oct and enjoy it thoroughly and don't feel any need or desire to swap to the updated OEM tune/ECU version while waiting for 1.05 when it seems that there's no point in doing so. In my case anyway.

Bought my tune a week ago. Charged to credit card immediately. No receipt or tracking info. Emailed OV, no response. Is this typical?

Yes. He sometimes takes forever but he's never stiffed anyone so no worries, it'll happen.

I am out of office until Aug 14th, if you sent an email to support@ovtune.zendesk.com I will send you the tracking once I'm back in office.

Anyone else convert from 04B10 to 04B13?
On the fence on this but shaking off 04B10 is highly tempting, running 1.04 91 and still get some pinging. Witch makes me back off..... sooo am I really getting any power gains?

    You mean besides me lol?

Get rid of 04B10, it's hot garbage. You'll be pleasantly surprised by 04B13, it's a proper OEM calibration. You'll notice a decrease in mid range torque compared to 1.04A 91, and the throttle isn't quite as snappy.. but that's it. I'm not even worried how long it takes Mat to release 1.05, as I'm happy with what I have right now. Will update if any weirdness creeps in over time.

No pinging whatsoever on 04B13. Still running 91 E0 BTW.
