You can clock the part with the spool lever? I wasn't aware you could do that. Bad ass. As for mounting the controller, I didn't see any spots in the engine bay I'd be satisfied with mounting it. But, I think I can mount it just to the left of the winch, under the headlight. Looks like there's space, and existing fasteners to make a bracket, of some kind, for it.

 

Just the little cover is moving? on the flange or the tcase? Either way its fine. Though could be a source of noise in the future.

If that seal is not leaking, I wouldn't mess with it.

 

I’m getting ready to install my lift kit. Besides new shackles and U-Bolts, do I need anything else? Should I change out the bumpstops or anything else while I’m in there?

My setup includes: ICON 2.5 front coilovers, SPC Upper Control Arms, ICON Rear Shocks, AllPro Standard Leafs.

I’m aiming for about a 2.5” life.

 

Brake lines. Unless your not going off road

 

I’m currently running the LCE 3” Tundra SS brake lines, so I have that covered.

 

Do those have a longer one for the rear too

When would I need to change out the bumpstops?

 

Got the steering column cover on my truck (gotta find a black leather wheel). and the driver side master window switch cover on my door panel.. debating on doing black alcantara on the door panel where the fabric is (i need to find black door handles too...)

 

The 4Runner uses the same steering wheel in Black. Not sure if I've seen it in that style, however. The 1995-2000 Tacoma wheel commonly comes in Black on 1996-2002 T4R's.

 

yea the one at the yard had the wheel missing. i grabbed the airbag though... i might try to get a 4th gen 4runner wheel too.. gain some steering wheel controls and the airbag should work with a sequoia airbag charge in the wheel. and sequoia clock spring.

 

You’ll be fine with the stock bumps. Unless you wanna jump it which I don’t recommend or beat on it hard off road. You can upgrade to the 2nd gen wheelers super bumps. There not to expensive.

 

Oh man getting those newer wheels to work is a huge cluster-f. Read through Jon's thread about it.

 

Just get plastic guy bumps. Only 67$ and are meant for 1st gens
