Cummins hold value wherever they are though, best fullsize ever made, those trucks are seriously amazing

Except being mated to a Chrysler trans. Chrysler has no idea how to make transmissions, they haven't since the TorqueFlight 727, that's why they started buying Mercedes Trans in 2006

True but they're out there. If you are okay with any auto that's fine too, just budget 3k ish into the purchase price to build a tranny for it. I just hate them, manual and an exhaust brake is how those trucks were meant to be

I'll probably never build a cummins power anything, they're really neat but not my thing at all. I want to hot rod out a real two-stroke detroit diesel if I'm gonna mass around with any diesel. The detroits just sound amazing too.

    https://youtu.be/K2zwd1iazvU

All of that sound and twin stick unsynchronized shifting for like 40mph and max of 2800rpm haha but they're fun

Detroits are wild, but not practical for anything but a toy really haha.. badass though. I'd love a Cummins one day and a trailer to tow a wheeling truck around. You seen the vids of the 2000ish horse Detroit semi that runs 13's in the quarter?

Yeah if anything I'd put a detroit in a car or motorcycle or something haha. Don't need another fuckin truck clogging up my driveway lol

I don't ever really want a wheeling rig I have to tow, I'd rather just do the work to make it work on the street. I've seen some stupid fast detroits, they really are the hotrod diesel engine, especially in the bigger variants like the 10cyl and such

Yeah to me the towing part is more not having to worry about breaking it when going wheeling for the weekend. Totally agree though that any wheeling rig should still be somewhat okay with driving on the street. To a point at least

Hardcore engines man, especially spinning twin dually axles.

I love this guys setup, he even converted an impact gun to be the starter so this thing runs entirely mechanical, zero power required to run the engine and air setup because of the tank and onboard crank driven pump. He feeds the supercharger with a beautiful turbo setup. The two-stroke just makes it scream

It's time I put this lift on. So far, I'm ordering new U-Bolts and Greaseable Shackles.

Do I need new mounting hardware for the rear shocks and/or front coilovers? I don't have any hardware besides the six bolts for the top plates on the coilovers.

Even though it's horribly impractical, the fact that they can't naturally aspirate is so cool to me haha, have to have forced induction just to run

Idk if it's the same with coil overs as just my 5100 shit but I got new washers and bushings for the front as well when I did mine. Idk if that applies to you

There are some gas engines that do this as well, look up the 2001 Mazda Millenia, it has to have its twin screw supercharger to run because it is miller cycle and leaves its intake valves partially open to get the most boost in and clean the chamber on the exhaust stroke. The supercharger literally holds the compression

His coilovers have spherical bearings instead of bushings and pins
