My stumble occurs around 1800 rpms. Mine is weird though and only happens during the cold times of the year.

@inksin hooked it up today. Night and day difference. Bog in first is nearly gone, and second gear doesn’t buck when you get off the gas now. I’m thrilled.

I ended up chickening out. I have been reading that the knockoff minivci techstram cables are junk and could possible brick my ecu while updating it. I guess I am going to try the dealer first, or worse case buy a tactrix cable.....

I experience this almost daily at around 2500-2800 rpm. It’s like a quick hiccup then back to power. Def. more apparent when cold. Def. not lugging the engine. I would love to take it to my dealer and see what happens but I’m 3 hrs away and can’t just make a day of it right now. Hopefully a proper tsb will be released soon. If not I’ll have to learn the other route and throw down some cash.

I have a question about warranty. I’m total nube at the whole flashing ecu game. If you were to flash with T.S. to the new ecu without toyota being aware, and then had to go in for warranty work, would they give you a hard time for the updated ecu when they don’t have record of performing a ecu flash? Might be a stupid question.

Right on man, glad we got to get the flash done and it worked out like you hoped. So much simpler than dealing with the dealer down here. Lol
Gotta flash another guy’s truck on weds.

I doubt they would even check. Even then the next thought is that someone forgot to document it.

I hope there is a formal TSB soon. No way I will try going to the dealer without one in hand specifically for the manual.

Another 04B11 updated to 04B13! That was really easy. Now to go out and put her through the paces.

did it prompt you to revert back to stock? that's weird. i was on 1.04 for MT and just flashed the .cuw file and that was it, no downgrade or changes required, but i was coming from 04B12, not 04B11.

No didn't prompt me, said my current tune wasn't compatible. I suppose its possible I chose the wrong CUW file when I first tried... Anyway, all good now, time to driiiiiive!

awesome, hope you enjoy it and it's what we're all talking about. and i'm about 100% sure you did not need to revert to stock. just making a note so others don't make the process more complicated.

Second day, still not a lot of miles (Oahu is small), but this update is night and day different.
