@m603holden I was at a similar crossroads but, I think I made a good choice in order. CB/OBA, 33s, Sliders & armor; should be enough for the truck to stay in one piece for a long time. I figured the underside protection is the critical piece then bumpers & winch will be down the road once I restock money then I'll be a SOS poster-boy like @tacobell007. The next smaller purchase will be a hi-lift and accessories since I'll finally have sliders to use them on.

So @tacobell007 when can I schedule my appointment to get help installing everything since you caused this? Sliders are done, packed and ready as of last night (@jztacoma, @Jcyr, @morri89) I'm thinking after the FF party @surfandturf is holding so I can spray the frame before putting on everything. I'll hit the sliders/skids with some FF out of the can before putting them on.

I'm waiting to see what I find under the dirt from this weekend. Did 60mi of trails in NH on Saturday and man were those trail overgrown; so many squeals driving through there

I haven't heard about my sliders so that's good they got boxed up last night! Good timing since the wife ripped a dress getting into it this morning.

 

Yeah, ENH was holding a "newbie" run that I made the list for. Some sections were tough but, not impossible cause this lime green thing made it through everything even through a ledge somehow. Also met @ecgreen for a hot second.

No notifications have gone out but, I emailed him asking about adding skids to the order. So he commented on my timing since it was on the pallet & ready just waiting on shipping paperwork.

Good to know, and see, that things at work are still the same BS as they were before I took last week off.

yeah the shipping deal for this thing made it awesome, so might as well optimize on it as much as possible.

I hope they show up before the end of the month. heading to Marthas Vineyard for labor day weekend and would want them to fight off the door dings while i'm out there

 

Yeah should definitely help. This will be my first time putting on sliders (or anything really) so we'll see how it goes. Looked at write-ups and doesn't seem bad. Just gotta grab a couple tools (that I should have anyway but don't)

 

Well I am just one step above a poster-boy at this point lol. He gave me my own discount code after that slider deal. The sliders on 2nd gens can be done in like 2 hours basically. I think doing my dad's DCLB sliders I put on by myself was like 45 mins for the driver's side and 30 mins for the passenger side. So you just let me know when y'all wanna take a trip out, maybe if you time it right we can all go to the BigE

 

That'll be close probably. In my email this am I asked a similar question about delivery cause I'm in Maine the entire week of labor day and I don't want the shipment to get returned because I couldn't pick it up in time.

Anything super crazy? I haven't looked at any install information but, I'm sure @tacobell007 has most of the tools & knowledge if he's willing to help. I've got liquid gold and an extra set of hands to offer up for the services then dinner as a reward. Just hoping @Cativelense is willing to share

 

Not much for sharing to be honest... but I guess I can share @tacobell007 this time. LOL!

 

I could do my 2nd gen in under an hour by myself. The tricky side is always the driver since it had the brake lines going through it so the first time putting them on takes a little bit to massage the lines out of the way and such. Its easier with 2 ppl, a jack and set of jack stands and maybe some clamps that's for sure. I usually ended up getting it onto my gut and bench pressing it into position.

 

Mine is version 4, they went slim around version 14 I believe. I have the network adapter with a 200gb hdd. Several controllers, maybe 10 games and a couple memory cards. The cd tray isn't the greatest though. Still have one of the original PS1s too

 

Yeah that's what I've read, brake line on the driver side can be a little tricky. And a jack and jack stands help hold it in place.

 

How does the shipping work on this? I thought he was shipping everyone's together, so does it all go to one location and we pick it individual parts from it?

 

It is quite straight forward. The forward most bolt is a pain and moving brake lines out of the way just have to be patient and careful. I'm down for giving you a hand!
