Im going to be starting this program next week sometime. hopefully around monday(so i cant get sundays off) and was woundering if anyone wanted to join me? I have tryed to program before but have failed to finish it, so i figured if i started a post maybe i could get some support from some fellow tacoma'ers!

Im going to try and post pics weekly so i can get some input on it.

Im kind of dissapointed in myself, beacause only a year ago i was in high school breaking and making records. i broke the record in the school district for benching my own body weight 23 times, and the next highest was only 17. Also broke school record for doing 88 pushups in 1 minute.

P.R. for me was doing the mile in 6 minutes and 15 seconds. Squating 255 as a max and rep. of 3 at 240.(im a little guy, 5'3 and 110 pounds) :p

if i could get your guys imput that would be great, and also maybe some others doing this with me, that would be awesome! :D

I already had a thread on this, but it since kind of died down. Best of luck! Much easier to do if others are right alongside you pushing as well, trust me!

Well... Yes and no. As of right now, I am on the tail end of a week long flu bug. And about a week before that, I threw my back out doing Plyo of all things (my fault, dont blame it on the P90X)... So I am actually about 2 weeks off. But yes, I am actually getting decently close to done with my second go round of P90X. Not the same changes as the first time around, but I was in a little better shape when I started this one too. These 2 weeks didn't help out AT ALL. I can definitely tell I have been out of it for 2 weeks.

I would be up for it, where can I get it for cheap( ie free). I've been out of hs for 3 years now, and have packed on the pounds and lost the muscle. I graduated at around 200, I'm 5'10". Now I am 235 and the same height. I used to wrestle at 189, and played soccer as well. I wouldn't mind getting back in shape.

Torrents is a good way for free. However, you don't get all the "goodies" that go with it. I've been looking on Craigslist and there's a lot of people with off the truck specials that include everything.

I have watched the p90x videos, well the beginning of them, and I wasnt impressed. They seem to just want to sell you bunch of products that you dont need.

What you need to get in the best lean shape of your life is:

    1. A health diet that consists of:
    - waking up and eating some eggs with fruit, or some other type of breakfast, either way breakfast is the most important meal of the day and should be your biggest.
-continue to eat one small meal every 3 hours (SMALL meal, dont go gettin yourself bloated, you should be eating 6 meals a day)
-eat your majority of protein and carbs in the evening after working out.
    - eat lots of fish, chicken, rice, spinach, brocolli, and basically any other fruits and vegetables.
-DO NOT!! eat fast food, or anything else unhealthy, such as pizza, burgers, french fries, if you want to get in shape, its 90% diet, 10% exercise!
    - One or two of the 6 small meals a day you should have can be replaced with a double protein shake. I like to use two scoops of whey protein to one cup of milk.

    2. Get a good combination of weight lifting and cardio, personally I do weight training 5 days a week

    Monday- Chest and tri's + 3Mile Run
    Tuesday - Back and bi's + 3Mile Run
    Wednesday - Legs + 3Mile Run
    Thursday - Shoulders and tri's + 3Mile Run
    Friday - Arms and ab's + 3Mile Run
    Saturday - 3Mile Run
    Sunday - 3 Mile Run

Some days I am just too tired to do any more so usually on a saturday or sunday once every couple weeks I will take a day off.

    3. Get lots of sleep, being tired will limit your gains.

    4. Exercise properly, which means dont over work yourself. Lift only weights that allow you to pin point the target muscle you are working out. Over lifting will cause you to strain other muscles.

    5. Go to the gym with a work out buddy, someone to talk to and motivate you into going, this is a good thing, what is not a good thing is when you go to the gym with 5 buddies and you end up spending all your time talking. One friend to go with I find is best.

These are just some of my ways to keep in good shape. I have read a lot about keeping in shape and getting lean. You do not need these fancy systems created to take your money like p90x all you need is the motivation and will to succeed and you will.

If you guys liked that info then I suggest you check out http://www.bodybuilding.com they have a tonne of info on there.

p90X is a good workout if you want a body like a girl. all it will make you do is loose weight and not gain muscle mass...its a high endurance workout.. you might as well get some Richard Simmons Videos :D

p90x is a great alternative to gym memberships.
Its cheaper in the long run. It has proven results.

It's all going to boil down to what your goals are.

You will gain muscle mass to a degree, just keep the heart rate down and eat to get big if you want to get big. If mass is something you're going for I'd cut out the cardio days and replace with a x stretch. Otherwise its a great system and will get you in better shape hands down.

and yota4x4 p90x is a great system if you don't want a body like this

but what do I know... I'm just another guy on the interwebs. :)

it is a great system, but I think that you dont need a system, you can do it all on your own.

some people can... some people can't. Its especially great for people who can't get access to a gym, work odd hours, are self conscious, or need a clear outline of everything to keep them on track.
