HT had Incision Metal Transmission Gears in stock, so I picked those up. Got everything back together and seems good to go. It's not as fast as I thought it would be, but that's ok for now. Hoping I just get a little more wheel speed to climb some things like that first obstacle at White Settlement.

I have those little 3S batteries for the XV01, but they don't like to stay put in the crawlers battery tray. I might pick up a bigger size 3S if I like the speed after trying the small ones.

I agree, need to get your XV01 fixed. With the new concrete in front of the basketball court, the grass, gravel lot, and that gravel hill, i bet we could set up a pretty big rally course out there. Might even be able to run some of the walking trail along the creek.

Am I better off sticking with a stock plastic spur gear? I have to go to HT Plano or Dallas for the stock gear. If I replace with steel, are driveshafts the next thing Ill break?

Either the dshafts it the trans/diff gears. Id go plastic since its the easiest thing to replace in the drive line

That's awesome, but not for $299.

MonsterBolt is fixed. Went back to the Tactic TX/Rx as I don't care if it gets dropped or anything. The Flysky reciever I had in the crawler got wet and stopped working intermittently. Never had an issue with the Tactic in the balloon, so went back to it. The extra FS receiver will go in the future drift car build.

I also changed the spur gear and made some slipper clutch pads from some automotive gasket material. It looked rough, but seems to work. I'm ready for the next crawl session, though.

Not this weekend for me. To much going on. Plus i need to get the fleet up and running. The hobbywing esc is too big to fit inside the TH so i need to get creative with it.

FINALLY got the steering adjusted on the XV01. Seems like it goes in a straight line, now. Ready for some rally action.

Also hooked up the castle link and turned off the annoying idle beep and changed some brake settings. I didn't realize that you needed access to the ESC wire that normally goes into the receiver, so I added another extension in the receiver and left the ESC plug out of the balloon/box. At the last crawl session at Arbor Hills, the wiring for the lights got caught in the driveshaft and screwed it all up. So, no more lights for now. Might even be time for a new body, but still undecided on what to get.

I was looking at that today. I was also considering the Hilux pick up but using the Trail Honcho cage on the back. I figure if I use the cage with no wheel wells, the 12" wheelbase of the Deadbolt won't look weird. Otherwise, I'll need a new set of links. Do you still have your old Honcho cab?
