    Yes, the clutch could be engaging, but a bad compressor still might not provide enough pressure.
    If the compressor clutch plate is engaging when you switch on the AC, you still should vacuum-pump the system, fully charge with freon, and connect a set of AC pressure gauges. to verify.

    Happy Motoring, Mark

    Ok, I agree with Mark D. Sounds like the compressor can no longer create pressure even if your clutch is spinning from a article I just read. If you positive on the pressure switch ? It makes sense what your saying. It is time to get a new compressor!

    Don't bypass the pressure switch. Doing this will screw up the compressor and cause the system to vent excess pressure

    IDK considering how much I have seen A/C lines and fuel lines go for 100 bucks isn't too bad for that 2 line assembly. I replaced mine when I replaced my entire A/C system.

    It would be best to pressure test the system to know for sure, but if your compressor is running and you still aren't getting cold air, then I would assume the compressor is toast.

    Did the shop not conduct a pressure test? If they did, what were the readings?

    had this happened to me, it was holding vacuum at -30. Compressor kicked on when I introduced refridgerant but the air was still warm, like 80 degrees warm. Wasn't happy.

    Ok, As I don't know that much when it comes to numbers on the a/c system but, I am guessing -30 on vacuum is good/acceptable?

    @wolfgang123

    If you still need the grommets for the firewall let me know. I am parting out a truck that has them and they are in good shape. PM me
