it didnt on mine. I think its a different module for the transmission itself and not the main ECU.

Literally best things ever, these knobs. Got trd skid, not impressed. Is decent, but very cheaply made. Better than the factory ones, which aren't even skids. Just there to stop a pebble hitting things. This is how thick they are, huge dent pulling into a fire road. What crap. 9BF53754-BF8A-4B3B-9795-D032B9EC3DFB.jpg837985AA-8807-4ACA-9A83-F51D85A6F9B0.jpg

That is exactly why I changed to the TRD Pro skid. Wouldn't take much to go through that stock tin and penetrate the oil pan.

Mine is only 2 wheel drive so the Pro version is fine for on road use and I like the oil filter access.

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
Seconded. Couldn't see having to drop the whole plate (those things are heavy!) whenever I needed to change the oil.

Speaking of which... Anyone here know if a Fumoto drain valve can be easily operated with the TRD skid plate on?

Worst case, it looks like one might need a tool bent from stiff wire to move the lever through the drain hole in the plate.

I have seen others with the valve and Pro skid. I plan on installing one, along with my aluminum filter housing, on my next oil change. Seems like there is a Fumoto thread.

Ah, thanks! I'll probably be doing the same, but it will be a while before the next oil change for me.

Well, this must not apply to my 2018. I did some experiments on the way home from work and I don't have the stumble problem. I know this from the :burnrubber: I left in the road.

If you really like them black and want them to stay that way, peel the derp off and paint them (if you’re going to put them back on)

If you watch the videos of how to plasti dip badges you will see that it’s not tedious at all. If you’re going to derp the badges, do it on the vehicle. It comes out great that way.
