My truck has a 3” lift in the front, but nothing in the back. Every now and then when I release the brake, I can feel the truck move/jerk. I’m not sure if this is what you call “axle wrap”. I had an 06 that did something similar, but not quite the same. It turns out the valve body was going out on the 06 but I’m pretty sure that’s not what’s going on with this one. I’m just wondering, How I can fix this? Also, like many others here, my brakes are kind of mushy. I recently had the brake fluid flushed and I’m thinking about checking the rear brakes for adjustment, does anyone have any advice. Or has anyone encountered this before?

My truck is stock and once I park it, engage parking brake, release the brake mine rolls forward at least an inch. I don't think it's lift related but I too would love to learn why this happens.

No difference in brake action with 2.5 lift. No mushy brake pedal either & fixin to be lot less of nonmushy pedal when the extended rear ss brake lines go on the truck. Brake wear has been excellent and even on all 4 corners - stock rotors/pads.

HOW do you do this? I've never heard of it. Is there a TSB for it? Have you any idea what the cost is? is VSC the same as ABS?

not since my lift but since I put 285s on yes. look at wheelersoffroad for the extended braided brake lines. probably one of the best $100 iv spent on my truck

Was it a huge difference? What would you rate it between 1and 10, 10 being the best.

It's something the dealer needs to do. Others have had issue when they lifted their trucks with VSC. The lift makes it go out of wack. I don't remember if it was here or on TundraTalk that I was reading about the dealer recalibrating the VSC, after a lift is installed.

I'm glad my truck doesn't have that.

The stainless brake line give your brake pedal a firm feel. I run 35" tires and my brakes work just fine. It's all stock.

hmmmm I would say it doubled my stopping power and overall feel of the brakes. Im going to rate it an 8

If you have an 06 you probably don't have the VSC.

Nice! How hard was it to do? Would a novice shade tree mechanic like myself be able to do it? I always do my own brakes, and I did my own brake fluid on my truck.

Yeah you're right! I miss read his OP. I know he said he had an 06' but I did catch the part about the present truck being an 06'.
    I was thinking he had a 2010.

    Sorry about that!

Yea, but it jerks right when I release the break. It's hard to explain.

Just throwing this out there: look into "slip yoke binding" in the driveshaft. Mine did the same, also "thumped" when coming to a stop. Dealership greased the slip joint and the problem was gone. Seems to be a fairly common problem from what I could read. My thump is coming back though so I'll tear it apart and grease it with Molykote... I dont think the dealership used molybdenum grease on mine.

I had this in my 06 and servicing the tranny worked. Mine is an auto and from what i hear the slip yoke is inside the tranny so it cant be greased up. Is there a write up on this somewhere?
