This thread seems to have all kinds of different responses.

“Hellcat power, Prius MPGs and shifts like a PDK”.....

    “Dien doo muffin”....

    “TSB gave me the herp!”....

    Which one is it? Lol....

Id be curious as to what the TSB actually changes...

Im pretty happy with the truck as is...No complaints. Plus don't feel like rolling the dice on it and giving the truck the herps...

My truck wasnt that bad, or at least I didnt realize it until I had the update. The truck overall is a pleasure to drive now. If you can do it, I think you will be very happy.

Hate to say it, but there is on mine. Stutters now and is all over the place gear hunting. It didn't do this before! I ain't kidding, either. Maybe the computer will relearn how I drive and smooth out.

T-SB 58 & 62 use the same software calibration to fix their respective issues. If a dealer is hassling you about the elevation stated in 62, simply have 58 completed to have the new software flashed.

Just called and setup my 5k service, spoke with a service advisor and described my issues with the transmission and mentioned the T-SB I found online that matched the symptoms. He stated that they will need a few hours to diagnose my vehicle and will then only install the T-SB if they find any issue...

Called my local dealership to make an appt this morning. They told me that there’s “no recall or warranty issue regarding this new update” on my 17 Tacoma.

I told them about the “lack of response on the throttle and how it lags”

They told me to bring it in and they’ll inspect it and go from there.

They said it’ll take around 2 hours to update IF they do it.

    Does that sound about right?

Had mine done today. Took a test drive with the Shop Foreman. He mentioned that the constant searching for gears is Toyota’s way of saving gas on the Tacos. He also mentioned that he knew of both TSBs that are out...”high altitude and vehicle surge”. On the test drive my truck didn’t really stumble, surge, or drive crappy at all so it got me worried. When we got back he said he doesn’t think it would make a difference but he’ll have them reprogram the ECM anyway. I’m pleased with the way it’s performing so far. Like someone has mentioned before, it’s like a “Light ECT”. E37EEFBE-F5B8-4145-8644-DF88C62C1E7C.jpg

I have the same issues here in PA. Also notice the surge as well. Mine is a 2016 that I just got just over a month ago. My buddy just bought his new 2018 Taco and has had similar results. Mine is going in the shop Thursday evening, hope they do the TSB (i told them when i scheduled).

    Hey all,
im new to this forum and just got an 18' TRD sport DC. im not really experiencing too much stumble or shifting problems (yet) but i only have 10,000 kms, and i did that all in 1 raod trip from BC to ONT and back last month.
Wondering if there is a way to tell if the dealer may have already put the updates in? otherwise i will get them to do it on my 2nd scheduled visit...

    thanks
also, not related but anyone got a good thread on the best CAI/SAI upgrade for 3rd gen?

I don't have many complaints with my truck, but users have mentioned the pedal feels livelier. That's what I want. Towing through mountains with a dead pedal suuuuuccks.
