Thanks for all the info and entertainment. You folks are one of the best forums around. I bought a burgundy read SR5 Crewmax, 5.7 with tow package. Now I'm looking for a big ass camp trailer for it! Maybe a classic Airstream! The dealer didn't care much for my topper so it is on ebay, item #290442771281.If anybody from the forum wants to pick it up in Houston I'll take $600 for the buy it now for y'all:). I hope the Tundra boards are as cool as this one!

I've been driving a Tundra all week, and I have to admit - some stuff is nicer. Leather, a crapton of storage - EVERYWHERE is storage. And I'm driving the access cab-ish version and it has more room in the rear than my double cab. Truck is fast as holy hell too, but that gas mileage, and the thing is freaking HUGE and a pain in the butt to park. If you need the towing, and don't mind the size, it's a beautiful truck.

Yea, add the wife, two kids and a big dog and you can see my reasoning. It is a freakin' barge! And the gas mileage is horrible. I put the mpg display on instant then nailed it, the gauge settled on 1.7mpg.

    Instant doesn't mean anything.

The tiptronic shifting on the auto is nice too. They're made by toyota. The thing that bugs me, is that they save some of the nicer options for Tundras only. I assume its a manufacturer ploy, hey man you want leather, lemme show you $12k more truck over here... Another fun little trick with the Tundras- once the starter gets cranking, release the key - it'll start itself. No need to hold it down. Kind of a cool feature.

I had an 07 Tundra. The best board I found was Tundra Solutions. The guys over there are not nearly as nice as over here, but there is alot of information.

Enjoy your new ride. They are sweet!

In defense of my former Taco, I miss all the storage cubbies behind the rear seat, and the Crewmax has a giant empty space under the rear seats but no storage is available underneath because the rear seats move back and forth. The storage bins in the bed are not in the Tundra. The Tundra has a painted metal bed so I had to get a liner sprayed in. I miss the tailgate camera too. I don't miss that damn rearview mirror though, it was always in my way. And the thing I will miss most is that unlike my Tacoma the Tundra will not fit in my garage

No need to defend, I like my taco better too. I was more referring to the crazy amounts of storage in the forward cab - like 2 freakin glove boxes? You could put things away and lose them forever just by virtue of too many spaces in the thing.

    Would this help any?

    http://www.trdsparks.com/displayparts.php?Mdl_dtl=696&Part_cat=23&parts_id=1453

I also put one of these in my truck.

    http://www.trdsparks.com/displayparts.php?Mdl_dtl=696&Part_cat=23&parts_id=1416

I also added a back up camera to mine. It was a toyota part. I had the one that had the little screen above the rear view mirror. They also had one that had screen that would fold up and down. Looks like they have a different one now that is in the mirror like the Tacoma.

I would love to trade in for a tundra, but I am afraid of the gas mileage... how do you find the crewmax?

Heres a pic of the old style that I don't think they make anymore. It was pretty cheap, and very easy to install. As long as you had atleast an SR5 with the tow package, everything was pre-wired and simple plug and play.
