    I use it!!
The rattle can on the lower makes it look more abused than she is, I was holding off on rattle can-ing the upper because I switched handguards (M4 to MOE) and I don’t know that I want to paint my Holosun or the TLR-1 that’s on it right now, and also a black suppressor on an all camo gun looks kind of odd, i don’t really have the rattle can on it for functionality (if the rifle is deployed you’re gonna know that I’m coming) so right now it’s a mis matched gun.

I guess my definition of abuse is different than others, I just pulled this “about time for replacement” CV out of my truck today. When I say I don’t abuse my rifle but it may fit your definition of abuse.

Yep. I got "some" 80% lowers in a blem sale once because someone indexed a CNC vice wrong once and pivot pin gap ended up being 30 thou off. Welp, if you can machine an 80% lower, you should be able to fix a 30 thou pivot pin gap problem, right....? My old 750lb round column mill with 3 axis DROs has righted many wrongs....

At one point I had 4 Mosin Nagant 91/30 snipers (well, my first was a faux built on a 1927 MN with a scope made in one of the original factories that produced them during WWII). 1 faux, 1 original and 2 restored ex-snipers. I've sold the original. The ex-snipers are my match rifles - 1 1942 Izhevsk and a 1943 Tula. They are amazingly accurate.

    PU Snipers May 12 2013.jpg

When I was competing, I reloaded my match ammo. I took a batch out to test it just before a match. With the rounds were 3 slightly lighter loaded rounds that I mixed in and never knew when they'd show up. Here are the zero targets. 100 yards. I started lower left, shooting 5 single rounds, making adjustments and then firing another 5. I then moved to the lower right following the same 5 round pattern - here you can see two of the lighter loaded rounds appear. Then I moved to the upper red bull- 5 rounds, 1 obviously having a lighter powder load. These things can be tack drivers. Like the ARs, it's more about the driver than the vehicle.

Me too, they’re very versatile. And they don’t have to cost 200 and plus dollars to function. As I’m sure those other ones work very nice also, as they should! FOR 200 and plus dollars!o_O

Hey guys, quick question here. Went to the range today to make some adjustments on my build. Noticed that there was a decent amount of crap on the brass after it was ejected and a small indent around the neck. Both are factory loads. First two pics are Federal Premium 130 grain open match tip. Second two pics are Hornady Black 123 grain ELD match. From a quick search it seems like this shouldn't be a big deal, but I wanted to see what y'all thought. Info about the gun: 6.5 Grendel build, shot mostly Wolf ammo through it beforehand, adjustable gas block (main reason for range trip, wanted to dial it in), second time shooting it.

Not sure if there's anything wrong, like I said I just wanted to see if the dirt was anything out of the ordinary.

    Thanks for any input!

Looks normal. Dents are from the brass deflector. It's meant to intercept 223 cases. Grendel is shorter so it gets a flat spot because it's hitting the neck dead on. Gets fixed when you size them

While agree that any milspec lower is roughly equivalent (other than finish, which is important to me)...

... I don't agree that a lower is a lower. I've owned/built over 50 AR's. I'll tell the fitment and overall finished product of a BCM, Spikes, etc lower is much better than an Anderson, PSA, etc. Both will do the same job, but if finish quality of parts matters to you, some milspec lowers are most definitely superior to others.

Ambi, billet and non-milspec lowers are another ball game. Companies like ADM and Radian make functional art.
