Had upsized my tires when I bought truck, no lift kit. Had to change to spare for a flat and jack was too short to raise high enough, son has same issue on his 2017. They ordering us taller jacks.

Ordered ac motor assembly, ordered front rear diff seal, send my photos to regional guy to look them, ordered taller jack, washed it, 35,000 service, met with guy on extended warranty and went negotiate on a new one. Not giving enough on a trade.

Haha no recalls and has no tsb and they'll say it's fine no matter what you tell them. Some of those service writers are TERRIBLE

Checked my 2017 manual OR and my differential is showing signs of leaking as well. 5800 miles.

Has anyone had a successful fix with the dealer simply tightening the bolts?

Will let you know Wednesday! I'm sure they will retorque and I'll get it back in another year but at least it's documented. Metal expands and heats up so I'm not too surprised.

I put my VIN in at toyota.com/recall and it said there are "There are no open Safety Recalls or Service Campaigns for this vehicle."

Does this mean the dealer won't be required to fix the leak? Truck is an OR. Does that make any difference? Are OR trucks affected? My truck has no mods.

18ft lbs for those bolts is ridiculous, 28 still silly.....mine at least waitied until 150k miles for this to show. Tightened the bolts myself, right up to break point, torque - who knows? Really tight like they should be. Cleaned it off and refilled it with 90w and Lucas oil stabilizer. Dry again. Check bolts every oil change and so far so good. Pinion dry fortunately. I am running diff breather mod. Sucks to be having these issues on new low mileage ones. Typical dealer nonsense reported - would expect nothing less.

That's the debate, in my opinion, just because its not a recall, doesn't mean that a service department shouldn't fix it under warranty. Same with a TSB, its to help guide the SA and technicians for a quick fix but just because one doesn't exist doesn't mean they shouldn't do their jobs and diagnose/fix the issue.
