I'll likely go a different route when I'm ready. I'm not in a rush since the new battery shouldn't give me any issues for a couple years.

I’ll never run a dual battery setup, and this would make more sense for me. If you change your mind and sell your current battery, let us know.

Probably on the quicker side, I don’t want to be stuck in a time crunch, and my stock one isn’t getting any younger.

They say he is a retriever/Shepard mix....and possibly a bit of pit....he's awesome other than being toy aggressive. You can screw with him while he is eating and touch his food, but totally opposite when it comes to toys. I'll be working hard to change that with him.

That's good! No problem! I'm all for helping when i can

They have a 4-6 week lead time, but I’ll let you know. I tagged all of us in my post. Maybe more people here might be interested since oem batteries take a dump relatively quickly.

I’m at 1.5 years and no issues yet, but I’m seeing 2-2.5 years is common.

4-6 weeks seems like a long time for that  I bet a group buy would speed the process a bit. I could also be wrong, that’s a very good possibility

Yea it does to me as well. I’d rather have the cage sitting around for a minute than buying a battery I’d be replacing again anyway.

I think I need to to this soon to even though that lead time is ridiculous! I may be one of the lucky few that my stock battery has lasted past 50k. :spy: Surprise mine has lasted these past 3 years. Going with a Northstar AGM 31M battery when I do upgrade, no plans for a dual setup 31M should handle everything I plan on running.

Why do you say never? I once thought that....then I did it, and it is AWESOME. I moved the stock battery into the dual spot at 4.5 years. It never gave any signs of quitting, but I figured 4.5 years was plenty in Texas. This is on my 4Runner.

I got around 5 years on my OEM battery in the Tacoma, and replaced the one in my 4Runner at 4.5 just because. (ok, the just because is that I have an infant and wasn't about to risk leaving my wife stranded in Texas heat) The 4R OEM is technically still in use.

I went with a Duracell AGM to take the place of the starting battery in the 4R. Sam's Club somewhat regularly does $20 off deals below the already lower price. If you aren't in a rush, keep an eye out. The "brand" really doesn't matter though. There are (something like) 3 major battery manufacturers and a handful of others. If you google it, you can find the information relatively easily. I'm not in the market to purchase one, so I'm not going to look it up right now, but the Duracell is made by one of the better of the 3. (Better based on reputation and opinion of whoever wrote the article that I read at the time.)

I stuck with OEM for my Tacoma. At the time, I was able to get it at wholesale and the 8 year pro-rated warranty made it kind of a no brainer. Plus, the OEM battery that came in the truck lasted longer than any other battery I've ever owned. Period.

I got about 75k on both OEM batteries.
