Well, did labs this morning so the follow up is next Monday.

Last year I went into summer about 30 lbs lighter, had dizzy spells and felt like there just had to be another way. A1C the last 4 or so times were in the 5.X zone. Talked with a dietician and she and the doc both agreed that I needed to add carbs and salt back into my diet. Still haven't added table salt to food prep'd with salt, and I really can't handle too many carbs because it gives me indigestion. So instead of more breads I added more beans, some potatoes and a tortilla now and then. So now I haven't had a dizzy spell since last summer and feel a whole lot better. So it'll be interesting to see what my A1C is now. I guess we'll find out Monday.

Thanks Sue. Sometimes it's really hard to know what's right especially with the vague info I get from the docs. They tell me what I need to get to, just not how to get there. The good thing is I guess I'm alot closer to being where I need to be now that I can hit the low numbers and I haven't been hitting the highs that I did when this all started 6 or so years ago. I just need to hit those good numbers between feeling like crap and feeling like crap.

    Sounds like a plan.

Maybe you can talk him down? :notsure:

I’ll never forget when I was about 17 the guy down the street had a black Chevelle. I don’t remember much about it other than I loved that car and it was his pride and joy, then he went and got himself into trouble and needed to sell it. If I remember correctly he was asking about $3,800. I so badly wanted it but I couldn’t get an insurance company to cover me. :frusty:

I have always liked the Chevelles, El Caminos, and Camaros.

If I want to I can drive mine into the 5’s also. Like you i felt like crap. Lost way to much weight, no strength, lethargic. I took that diet and threw it in the trash. I told my doc that no matter what my numbers are I need to feel good. I gained back the weight I lost, I’m eating what I want within reason.
Someone told me once if you feel off, eat something. So I do....
She cut my meds a little and I was worrried this last time but I was right where I was before.

IMHO numbers don’t mean everything. They send me a report and some are in the red.
So. Talk to the dr and she says the computer doesn’t know I’m a diabetic. Everything for me is fine.
So I said tell it I am. She says can’t.
I like my doc. When I talk she looks at me and not the screen. If I want a test, she will give it to me.

If your really active, you burn carbs, etc..

Not sure about your doc numbers but anything under 7 is ok..
