I told them that I was having hesitation and in 2nd and 3rd and that I wanted them to hook it up to Techstream just to see if everything is still up to date. If that doesn’t work I am just gonna either go to a different dealer and or get the cable and do it at home.

I haven't caught up on this thread since Sunday, so sorry for this delayed quote to your post, but this is exactly what mine does. I can't ever duplicate it, or predict when it's going to happen, though. I've been driving manual transmissions all my life, but was just chalking it up to shifting too quickly or something. My 2003 Audi has a worn out clutch, so I was just assuming it was just the difference in driving the two different vehicles. I'm taking my truck in for 15k service in another month or so, so hopefully it won't be so foreign to them to apply this TSB to a manual by then.

    An ode to 04B13

Come on in and we’ll waste your time.
Your shifty Tacoma is totally fine.
We took a solid minute and couldn’t replicate your claim.
You think you know better, what are you insane?
No the TSB doesn’t apply to you.
It’s for the auto trans only, you don’t have a clue.

Then there are the fellas that refuse step down.
Flash their own shit and be rippin’ round town.
The Yota engineers finally got it right,
But now @OVTune will bring us even more delight!

Anybody in Northern Nevada, Southern Idaho or Northern Utah have the ability to update the ECU. I will travel to you and bring snacks and beers....

Just got back from my dealer. They did a health check and said the only update found was for the auto. Tried showing the guy the 04B13 code and stuff with no luck...

Okay. That really sucks. I am wondering if it is a US versus CA deployment thing since the only shop that has done it is @Ruggybuggy 's?

Yup. That's what I said / meant. He's up in Canada. I know that we can install the update with a click as long as TS is installed, but I wonder if somehow the US shops might be behind the CA ones?

@Ruggybuggy do you or anyone in this thread know if you can use a Snap-on Verdict to flash the ECU?

    You're not helping!

I did buy my bluetooth OBD tool from newegg about 4 or 5 years ago. They have changed quite a bit in that time. I want to trust that listing.

    Which dealer?

I have one of the cheapo Amazon cables that I bought when I had my second gen to program new keys. Worked like a charm for that. I still only have that older version of techstream. I'll do some homework in the next day or two and see if I can get the newer techstream up and running. If so, I'm in SLC and would be happy to help anyone close do the update.
