If you had a $10k budget, what engine modifications would you make to increase performance?

Im not talking about looks or sound, but modifications that would actually increase horsepower and overall engine output...

    Go!

Custom supercharger or turbo are probably the only worthwhile options without a motor swap.

I’d save those pennies for the Twin Turbo setup OVTune is releasing beginning mid-Sept...

Would it be possible to add a V8 to the Tacoma? I would imagine an engine swap would cause all sorts of error sensor nightmares...

Anything is possible with a stand alone. You can't have everything working with a stock ECU on a swap. It'll never work as you want to.
Haltech makes awesome ECU systems for any budget , any car. I'm currently installing a Cosmo motor into an RX7 running it with a Haltech ECU.

^Yeah, I’ve spent all year waiting on Magnussen to give me some details, and OV told me mid-Sept for Twin Turbos via an open comment on Facebook.

Cooperation points go to OV, for sure. I can’t wait to see what they can make the truck do.

I'm waiting on that myself but I wish there were a supercharger option as well. Magnusun according to people on this forum is working on a unit for our trucks too. I'd rather rock a supercharger over a twin turbo because I don't need to race my truck around and supercharger seems more like a smoother and more reliable option. This is based on my wife's Audi supercharged 3.0 liter.

Supposedly, that supercharger is done and ready but they have no tune for it. This is all 2nd hand or 3rd hand info probably

Lol of course we get a stifling event that disallows us another option. I hope they can work it out or possibly work with OVTuned to get something viable.

I think once the TT info is out on 9/15, then Magnusson may have a fire lit under their asses to get a tune and release their product. Competition in this space can only help to make it better for us consumers.
