PRS Norcal Summer 2010 Camping trip /wheeling!

Sorry guys won't be able to make it to this trip, just got back from a last minute trip and can't get any more time off.

 

Hey Seth what time are you guys lookin at getting there? I will be up there around 6 or 7pm hopefully.

Our caravan is all off on friday so we will be heading out at like 10 i think... so should be there 2:30-3ish.

 

I'll get there around 3-4. I'm trying to get the 20th off so I can spend the night and join in on the potluck saturday.

 

I will post up later today with what my co-workers are bringing for the potluck. I will be bringing my full size BBQ with a spare propane tank.

 

Those of us coming from the Sacramento area are Hams. Not sure if anyone else is. We will be operating 145.535 simplex. I will see if i can identify a repeater we can use on the trail once I get up there. Those of you who have FRS Radios ( motorola talk abouts) we will also have access to those channels. So bring what you have.

 

I have a CB, so what will the CB users be on? I'm normally on 32

 

ill have my CB set up for the day trip up there. i can connect with bruce so we can all meet up in a general area. I did talk to Galen on saturday though, and i think we are going to meet on the main road by where the airport runway stop sign is.... or by the oak flat campground (before the turn-off).

Either way, ill have my CB and will be able to connect with at least one of you guys if we can't find everyone

I got Sunday off of work so I'll be there for the potluck. Not sure what I'm going to be bringing, maybe stuff for some chili dogs.

Has anyone heard from W3tW0rks?

 

Not totally sure what time I'll end up down there. From Google maps it looks to be around a 6hr drive for me so I'll probably leave late morning on friday and get there late afternoon/evening.

Anyone got an idea of what weather to expect there this time of the year?

Well its been a bit unseasonably cool here lately, but looks like summer is finally arriving. I would expect low to mid 90s in the days, but the nights could still be a bit cooler, mid 40s to low 50s. But no rain.

 

Yeah, that's why I was wondering, thanks for the info. Up here just over the border in Oregon we've been getting a bunch of rain off and on, and it hasnt got over about 70* and only on a couple of days. Usually its already been sunny for weeks straight and in the 80's. I mean we even had snow like 2 weeks ago still!
