I have done a search , I do not want to spend a fortune. I do live in buffalo with a lot of snow. If possible please include photos and how difficult the install was. Thanks in advance

Maybe there is a locking soft tonneau cover out there?

I bought a Gator TriFold from realtruck.com and I have no complaints. I got it for like $265 and it's held up really well to strong storms. It hasn't seen a Michigan winter yet, but I'm confident it'll do well.

I will second a vote for Tyger... $230 and I never got a drop of water in my bed.

Same here - Tyger's got my vote. Great bed cover for the price. Functional and easy to use.

No. But if the tailgate is locked, you can’t open it.

there is no way to open it with the tailgate up (without cutting it w/ a knife)

you drop the tail gate and then you can unclamp the folding areas.

Do you have to make any modifications to the Toyota rail system?. Apparently the previous owner had a cover on it and cut out too small notches near the tailgate of the truck in the rail

I had a Tonnopro Lo-profile rollup on my Silverado. Was in the mid-$200’s. I would buy it again.

Roll up vs folding?.I may be wrong, but it seems like the folding would hold up better with snow on it?.

The tonnopro lo-roll has built in cross support that rolls up with the cover. Have had it for 3 winters in Ohio so far and it has held up great.

One plus on the soft covers is that you can still fit something a little too tall in the bed and it’ll conform around it(to a point, obviously).

What about when the velcro gets damp. And is there something to hold the roll in place when it's rolled up?

I was quite happy with my Gator TriFold. Had it just over a year, through one Pittsburgh winter and only sold it off after I bought a shell. Easy install, easy to remove if needed.
