ECU TSB Update

What's wrong with all you guys? According to inksin the dealer will just do the update for you no problem. It's easy and obvious and clearly no issue getting this update on the MT.

Not likely. 2018s come with a different calibration altogether. Mine is 04A70, and I believe the update is 04A71.

 

Oh boy! I have a throttle cable and no TCS / ABS on my bike. It never puts a tire where I don't want it.

My current dealer in Asheville NC told me the same thing, but I was with the tech when we looked it up on Techstream and it shows the green - update available, then it goes to the TSB and it says AT Only. I will talk with him later today or tomorrow because my truck is there for a bed issue and see if I cant talk him into doing it. he is a very good guy and I like/respect him a lot. I will update or will complete this myself. Anyone in the area ( Asheville Nc - Myrtle Beach Sc) with a cable also - I can provide the computer if we can get a few together to do a meet and tune deal?

 

Interesting. So it says an update is available but they would not update because of the TSB wording? Any idea which ECU version you currently have?

 

Which is not surprising, if it says only AT you as a tech would not jump to install the update because it would be your ass that got chewed out if something went wrong.

 

I don't disagree at all. I meant it is interesting that it showed an update is available. I believe the OP was the only one that actually saw that update as available. This just helps verify his experience.

 

We, as a forum here, have access to information MUCH quicker than most people. My guess is a TSB is in the works and they are working on the official documentation for it.

 

I sure hope so, it does seem weird that they produced an update but then hid it.

 

Yes, maybe there's some hiccups with the update and the next thread we're gonna see on here is "HELPPP!!! my truck started to drive itself down the road and i couldn't stop"

 

Except that no one who installed it here has said that the motor is running any different than the AT folks are reporting. Six or eight people, or more, have taken the plunge with nothing but good results.

Now, if the gearbox started shifting all by itselft, then I'd start to worry.

 

When I talk to him, I will ask for a look and see. This could be interesting. I will keep everyone posted.

 

Does the tactrix module come with a USB connection for a laptop? Doesn't sound like the dealers are very receptive.

yes, it comes with the cable to connect to the comp

 

If one of you bastards where the entrepreneurial type, you could go on one hell of an overland trip across the US and charge to update trucks along the way. I bet you may even come home with extra cash in your pocket...
