We’ll see. My right OEM axle was still in good shape, so it’s the new spare. The left I will rebuild and reboot at some point. Boots were still ok , but lots of play at the outer joint.

Mob armor for sure. TW memeber is the company owner I believe. Has a killer linked truck.

Anyways, thats what Marc and I run. Its never moved on me. Fits perfectly above the center vents.

Though Im not familiar with that tablet so not sure it would fit. Might be different Mob Armor models out there now though.

I just use mine with GPS. Hot spot my phone to it if needed. Never found the need for the built in LTE really. ALso didn't want to pay for it..

What did you normally run APRS with? I still use a cheap DroidX, actually like APRSDroid better on the older Droid OS haha. Use the tablet sometimes but not often. BCN has APRSDroid integration but its super rudimentary that its not worth it. Hopefully they will update that part better soon.

I'd be happy to make you a mount/holder. Just send me the tablet so I can dimension it correctly, and then I'll send it all back. Or, better, drive it out here :).

Man, that mounts it so high. I really like my RAM mount and custom holder. Get's it down over the dash, right above the vents; less in the way.

Seriously Ben, happy to make you one and get the right RAM bits for you and send it all back if you want. Will just have to be done around the trips.

Im a tall guy. Not too high for me haha Or to far, easy to touch. Id be worried about the leverage of it that far out anyways possibly.

What keeps your tablet from coming out? Is there something on the back to hold it down too?

You might be tall, but Ben is even smaller than me. Can't you think about someone else for once? :luvya: lol, j/k

Anyway, the leverage is taken care of in my design. The RAM arm rests on the dash, supported by a piece of EPDM rubber. As such, it's not only suctioned to the window, but it's essentially "wedged in." I even got back from Canyonlands to find that the suction cup wasn't attached anymore, but the tablet was still held in place.

Clearly this thing needs a write-up of it's own. :p

    Ha nice. lucky!

But what about the tablet? is it just resting in a slotted pieced of wood?

That wouldn't...or rather it would fly with my driving :p haha

You all are just midgets! :p

Nope, the tablet is sandwiched on 5 sides (back, front, bottom, left, right) and there's a magnet on the back holding it in place; much like your Steelie but way lower profile (like 1mm) since the rare earth magnet is embedded in the wood holder.

Edit: And don't lump me in with Ben. I'm average height. :angrygirl:

Did your rack never get centered? That's an awful lot of threads showing on the outer tie rod.

You can't really run APRS on BCN. You just can see it. The annoying part is that the letter are always assuming the screen is facing north, which I don't think. And none of the APRS logos are there so they are all the same sometimes hard to see red spike. Can't message through it either. But does work.

Its just a drop down in the menu with the 3 dots. Very bottom option. If you don't have it, update APRSdroid.

that sucks. Hit and run? or they have insurance?

Dang, that sucks. Far be it from me to tell you how to spend your $$$, but if you're paying instead of the family member, I'd consider just leaving it. I replaced my front bumper a bunch of years ago after it got a bit messed up, and wish I hadn't now...you know, since eventually a steel one went on.

Sucks to have your pretty truck with a blemish though, I get that.

Yeah, if you're not paying, then fix for sure. I'd do Toyota dealer in that case.

the dealer will have a body shop they usually use. But in that case, it looks like a whole new rear bumper is going to be easiest. And probably what the body shop will recommend.

It's even on both sides, I looked last time I was there cause I was curious about it too. Mine are similar as well.

sure. I've never looked at one closely but it will likely be easier to buy whatever piece that is and replace it. Corners like that are not fun to fix in a body shop and to do it right is expensive.

Hmmm. I just replaced my OTREs and have about 8 threads showing on each side.

There is still tons of thread engagement too considering how long the OTRE threaded section is on these 555 OTREs
