I'm considering installing a Blackvue DR590 dash cam along with the Power Magic Pro Battery Discharge Prevention Module.

I'm looking for some insight on where to mount this hardware. Windshield and where to mount the Power Magic box.

I'm going to be installing a 900s with this Blendmount mount. I have a 17 so i have more space than your 18. my windshield is tinted so I didn't want to use the sticker.

I hope it comes in this week so I can work on it on the weekend.

I'll have to get a picture but mine is directly behind the rear view mirror. I don't even know its there. Mounted it in the same place of the wife's 4runner. Already came in handy when someone hit her mirror a few weeks ago.

I have the DR750S-2CH. Front camera is right behind rearview mirror. Rear camera is on the driver side of powered rear window. PowerMagic is installed near hood release latch. Can probably get some pics tomorrow.

Here’s what I ended up doing:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/blackvue-in-the-gopro-mount.532939/#post-17495255

Power magic got zip tied up under the dash above the kick panel. Probably a one hour project. Maybe 1.5.

The post I linked is not mine, it's just another thread that I follow. If you post your questions there I'm sure the OP from that thread will respond.

I have mine mounted behind the rear view mirror. The power magic pro is hardwired to the cab fuse box and just thrown behind the steering column. It traps it up there pretty well.

Mine is the same, but OP has an 18 which means the safety camera is in the way.

Got my Dr590w 2Ch installed. I Used the double sided tape install on the front camera while waiting on the Shipeways mount and a few GoPro connectors to do the final front camera mount. Also I need to tweak the rear camera position.Currently have it on drivers side rear close to the side. It captures a pretty decent image from there but think I need to move it more to the center.

After a bit of frustration I got the WiFi connection to function. Initially I changed the sign in password then I started getting errors that the pass word was incorrect. I factory reset the firmware and it's working now so I'm not going to mess with for awhile.

I'm okay with the image quality which I've got set to the max, but I kinda expected a bit more.

As to the parking function, I left the factory settings in place for sensitivity etc and I'm starting out with the parking parameters set at 12V and 6 hours. I've been checking it in my garage overnight, going in a few times to simulate activity and start the recording. Last night voltage only dropped to 12.7v when checked in the A.M. (don't know what it was to start with) but it did shut off after 6 hours so it looks like everything is working as programmed. I'm going to try 12 hours and see where that goes. I think that would be a good compromise time vs voltage drop. My goal is to find a setting that under normal parking lot conditions would go the programmed time without tripping off due to voltage drop.

Next a bigger SD card. I think 32 or maybe 64 would be plenty.

All in all, I'm happy with the camera

Same thing happened to me! I figured out too that I had the cloud on trying to access my wifi so you can't access it via the app while doing it. I learned when I was driving away from home and my phone automatically connected to the Blackvue.

I'm using the Blendmount mount so I can get it below my mirror and reach to disable/enable wifi and audio recording.
