Exhibit #87 were I should not have, but lucked out, taking the Soob: Obsidian digging in Oregon. Left with some mad Idaho pinstriping.

Subarus only get you so far and it doesn’t help trying to load 2 dogs, ski+climbing gear, iSUP and wife.

We needed a new adventure rig. The decision was between a 5th Gen 4Runner or 2015 Tacoma. For our use, a Tacoma with a shell would suit us best. My Dad’s 2.7 5spd suited us well down the AlCan and Cassiar a couple years ago.

So Tuesday we purchased a 2015 off-road manny.

And thanks to this forums vast number of tire threads, I settled on some 265/70r17 KO2 C loads. Pictured with the pre-cut street sweepers and said dogs.

With new meats acquired, it was time to get some dirt on it looking for clear skies for the Perseids.

Success in one of my favorite sledding areas of Central WA!

Thank you all who have asked, researched and answered threads to create the wealth of knowledge on this site. It’s much appreciated.

Nice! First thing I got was a camper shell too.. :fistbump:
if you're not too keen on paying those new shell prices then there are a ton of shells on Craigslist at half the cost of a brand new one.

Welcome aboard. Another former Subie owner here, and glad I made the change. Looks like you were rolling in a Legacy? My '02 LGT went to the wife when I got the Taco, and her Outback got traded in as part of that deal.
Don't underestimate where the Subie will go. I had to buy an aluminum skid plate for her Outback after a couple of her ... adventures to places I wouldn't have taken it.

I still have the Soob. It got a new turbo and clutch+Flywheel at 120 and timing+pullies at 150 and only has 180k.

I put on a lot of miles commuting and night skiing. Not to mention it’s nice to have a nimble turbo for Seattle area traffic.

Today I swapped out the diff, manny and TC fluids—was only at 14.5k but I did the same with my 4.7 5spd Dakota and it was a solid shifter down to -20F.

(Also snagged volume and torque values from TW threads!)

Great choice on the redline mt90. I run that in my 5spd and 6spd and they both love it
