Between the leaves? I don't think you're 'supposed' to grease them there unless it's a precaution against squeaking, but I'd just use regular moly grease...same as you would on the driveline zerks.

Grease that goes on the bushings is usually provided by the bushing supplier with them...it's a clear lithium based grease or the like.

I'm absolutely terrified of squeaks at this point. That's why I went for greasable shackles - which I'm not sure even fits on the AllPro leafs. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

How do I press in the bushings? Pressing them out seems fairly straightforward.

Mine just slid in snug by hand, couple taps with a hammer to get them in all the way.

So installing this lift is fairly straightforward? Nothing I should be concerned about?

Yeah it's easy, just the ubolts, shackles and main eye bolts. The main eye is the hardest to line up but some recommend doing it first to avoid that...have ratchet straps on hand to pull the axle forward if you need to to line them up. Remember to put the center pin in place on the axle...it should just pop right in.

It's the pin in the center of the leaf pack that holds the leafs in place. It lines up with a hole on the top of the axle so you know the pack is in place on the axle. Just want to be sure that is in place before you start to bolt everything down, esp before you do the u-bolts. You'll know what I mean when you see it

It's part of the spring pack, there is a hole in the perch that it sits in

All this talk of Leafsprings reminds me...

I built a Ballista (or what essentially is a giant Roman siege weapon, similar to a crossbow) for an Engineering project a while back. I used a 2nd Gen Tacoma Leafspring as the tensioning mechanism.

I designed it to shoot 1/2 inch EMT conduit. A 3 ton Cable winch was used to tension it. It could shoot a projectile 50 yards.

We used my KC LED’s fog lights to light up the hill.

Here’s a different one in action.

We got a B+ because on the last trial run, the lag bolt snapped and flung the conduit into the air and almost impaled my classmate.

My original plan was to buy a cheap trailer and weld an over-engineered all steel Ballista onto the frame. But they wouldn't let me drive my truck onto their brand new Astroturf football field, so we had to make it portable.

Keep in mind in the end, we had a 5x10 foot framed wooden Ballista made from wooden beams meant to hold up structures. Everyone else was using popsicle sticks, Elmer's glue, and bungee cords to complete their Roman siege weapon project.

Our project was so overkill and dangerous, our teacher actually banned car suspension from ever being used again. Our next project was to create an instrument capable of hitting a certain tune, we ended up building a tube device similar to what the Blue Man Group uses.

I'll let you figure out what we mounted to it on each side just to spite him with his 'No Car Suspension' rule. I found some Dodge RAM shocks laying in the junk pile.
