Pillar gauges on a 2011?

I cannot find anyone posting about a pillar with gauges for a 2011... Does anyone make one that looks close to stock?

My road map includes a transmission temperature gauge and an oil pressure gauge. Was hoping to plop them onto the left pillar.

 

Anyone? Damn I hope they exist.

Lotek makes a pillar pod that works well. I like mine on my 2013, but some others have had to do some minor trimming to get theirs to fit perfectly. They're made to order, but they come out pretty well. Matched with my AEM gauges (using the included silver bezel rings), everything looks as factory as possible.

And the trans temp can be done via the ECU, like with a ScanGuage, no fuss, no muss.

 

I actually have a GlowShift tinted oil pressure gauge (and sender), and voltmeter gauge you can have if you'd like. Just pay shipping. I switched to AEM AFR and boost gauges, so they're sitting around now.
A video of the startup sweep you can see here. You'll just need a tee for the oil pressure sender, or tap one of the extra ports by the filter. I opted for the tee.

Absolutely. I'll have to give them as a set, as I have the harness spliced together since they were running in the pillar pod. I mean you can always clip it and extend the wires, but I just want to make people aware. I used add-a-circuits for power, left the dimmer disconnected, used a ground behind the driver's kick panel, and you just have to run a sngle wire from the gauge harness to the sender itself through the firewall. Took me all of like a half hour to do.

Yes I saw that but I like the idea of the pillar gauges being out of the way haha.

When you say that it can be done via the ECU... What do you mean exactly?

 

The ECU monitors the trans temp as part of the operating parameters. Reading it with one of the tools that plugs into the OBDII port is much easier, and less risky than trying to run a discreet trans temp gauge.

 

Ah, so will it be possible to feed that data to a gauge?

 

Scan Gauge II, or one of the other OBDII scan tools is the easy peasy way. I would not try to hack the ECU circuits to feed an independent gauge.


That's where I mounted my SCII. They are capable displaying all ECU parameters (4 things at a time) tracking fuel consumption, clearing codes, etc. In this photo you see the 2 trans temps my '13 outputs, on the right.

I'd save my pod mount positions for items that can't be read otherwise. For example, a vacuum gauge is a very useful tool.

 

That is cool unfortunately not as cool as an analog gauge...haha. I had followed someone spilled on here and they showed how they did it and it didn't seem too bad.
I also saw someone else who had a custom radio mount the used one din for the radio and the other for a triple cluster. It was awesome.

 

Idk man, something about the ScanGauge and UltraGauge seems so ugly and I have yet to see a location that doesn't look like crap lol.
But maybe I'm old school and like pillar gauges...To each his own tastes though! At least we're giving OP solutions!
The startup sweeps are always fun to watch, too.



If I wanted to stay digital I'd just use Torque and route it through my Kenwood headunit, but I already have gauges on that too lol
