Never had any experience with Elite. If I see one I will.

One bow company bow's I used shoot with as a kid was Darton. I never hear anything about them anymore.

They are still pumping out good bows! I have one and have shot it for two years. I bought it more because it was a massive discount but it works good for me

The Elite Ritual was rock solid at full draw. Draw was not as smooth as the Hyperforce, but still pretty smooth. Dead in the hand at the shot. Seems to "aim" well, too. I couldn't make up my mind and ended up listening to the tech instead of my gut. Been back twice to because of string stretch. Last time I bitched, said "I spent $1,100 on a bare bow, the least Hoyt could do is not put these shitty Fuse strings on."

Oh well... I have my two back up bows. But in all likelihood, the Hoyt will be going up for sale.

Son was out taking care of some tree stands and pulling trail cam cards. These are pics from a spot we found last winter. Needless to say we are a little excited for October!!

My groups have tightened up so much I'm destroying my vanes. Time to learn how fletch I think. What's the deal with the helical fletching I"m seeing John Dudley do on his fletching videos? I'm assuming it creates more spin?

Get your self a Bitzenburger Fletching jig with a straight clamp and a RH (or LH) helical clamp. RH or LH doesn't matter when you are using vanes like Blazer, Fusion or Easton. Feathers OTOH are cut RH or LH and require the appropriate clamp.

You are correct in that helical (as well as straight offset) fletching imparts spin. Straight Offset or Helical fletching is OK. Straight fletching where the vane (or feather) runs parallel to the shaft is a no-no. I have fletched both feathers and Blazer vanes using a straight clamp and about 3 degrees offset on Easton Axis arrows. It has provided great stability for fixed broadheads like Magnus Stingers. The issue with small diameter shafts and helical fletching is that sometimes as the fletch wraps around the shaft it doesn't make full contact causing adhesion issues. Honestly, I have fletched arrows with Blazers at 3 degree offset and Helical and visually it's extremely hard to tell the difference. The Blazers are so short that they barely start to wrap around the shaft.

Anyhow, I getting ready to fletch up some arrows, I can post pics of the difference. Love making my own arrows.

    Good info!

Honestly sounds like a project I'm going to like. Do you use wraps too? I'm interested in creating some highly visible arrows and wraps do look pretty visible vs my basically all black carbon Victory shafts. Post some pics if you get a chance. Was thinking I'd start making straight vane and then move onto helical once I master that.

For arrow wraps, this is the place to go. https://onestringer.com/ I haven't used wraps for a couple of years now, because every time you need to re-fletch, you have to remove the wrap. Easy enough. Run under hot water, they'll start to peel off. Use a dull utility knife or some other dull edge to get the stubborn sections.

I have a 1/2 dozen arrows that need re-fletched. I can sit down tonight and run through few and take some pics on the process.
