Another avenue to check out are the independent mechanics, there are a lot of shops out there I'll bet would flash the ECU if your dealer won't do it.

Mines at 730. Taking it in for 15k, weeping diff, squeaky clutch, and hopefully ecu update

That's a good point. In theory a good mechanic would have techstream correct?

Yeah, I would think so. Of course you're going to have to pay for them to do it, but wouldn't think it would be more than paying for the cable etc to do it yourself. Might be worth checking out at least.

I’ve been through there a few times as my brother is up in northern Minnesota. If there’s enough interest, we could arrange a meetup and flash a bunch of trucks. It’s only like 3 hours for me to get to MSP.

I can definitely do weekend trips around the Midwest to get people updated. Make some cash and save people a hell of a lot of time arguing with the dealer.

I'd be down if they turn me down tomorrow, which I'm fully expecting

Mine is for the clutch pedal too. It’s clicking and feeling weird. I’m thinking it may just be a spring issue.

Mine has been feeling funky too but I’m over 60k miles now so I’ll have to try and figure it out myself. I’m assuming it’s the same issue that’s been present forever in the Tacoma clutch pedal.

Same surge, hesitation, studder, and misfire that everyone else has...... I've had an open case with toyota care since July 3rd, have been to 2 dealers, has been checked by 2 field technical specialists and I'm still told that it's normal operation and no updates are available (as of last wednesday). I'm going to schedule my 10k service at a dealer in another state and hope for the best. I've never been more disappointed in a vehicle or the customer service.

How’s everyone’s mpg after the update? Mine seems to be about .5-1mpg lower, but I’ll trade that all day for the change.

I haven't tried. I'll be going in for my 5k service probably some time in October. If there's a MT-specific TSB by then I'll mention the stumble and see what they say. If not, I'll probably get a Tactrix cable and flash it myself. For most of my driving it really isn't a big issue, except the once or twice it fell flat on its face under hard acceleration from a stop.

I had to drive approximately 250 mile last weekend and tracked my fuel mileage very carefully. This is a route I've taken many times and recorded my fuel mileage with various OV tunes and stock. Mileage was up slightly from stock and averaged 25 mpg running at 60 mph.

I’m in Apex NC if anyone needs the flash in the area. I like beer... a good double IPA or Belgian Strong does it for me.
