LOL! I don't have any secrets. Was just trying to keep it on the DL for now because I always jinx myself when it comes to stuff like this. Meaning, I talk about it, get my hopes up, and then it falls through.

 

I'd put a vote in for the Exploder over the Pathy, personally. I agree that the Nissan CVT's are sub-awesome.

 

I'm not a big fan of American vehicles, but I have to admit that the newer Explorers look spiffy as hell. Especially the Limited one... the wheels, the accents, and the options... NICE!

 

Worst thing I realized after doing the suspension on my last truck was that even after xxxx thousand of dollars...there is always something a little off or that you want to upgrade. Even if there isn't a big issue, it literally NEVER ends. Intersted to see where you go though.

I would guess (not knowing her at all, just basing off myself) that she is worried that she will get sucked in by a salesman. I'd say a good portion of people buying a car didn't plan on getting one THAT day, they probably planned on doing a test ride at a few places and coming back. Dealers are pro's at keeping you there until you buy. When I bought my first car out of college it happened to me. I got a decent deal, but I didn't plan on buying a new car that day and just go in for a test drive.

My wife had a rogue before the 4runner and it had 160k miles on it without any issues besides regular stuff. It was starting to really struggle at that point though on hill and on-ramps, which is why it got replaced.

I really like the new explorers alot, but everytime I have looked at them they are priced way above the competition. At least with the ecoboost engines. Ford does have huge incentives sometimes though that can balance that out.

 

What year rogue? Not sure when they started putting CVT's in

I've heard alot of bad with Nissan reliability and dealers as well.

I agree with your sentiment, but I think recently the gap has closed a little bit between American and Japanese in terms of reliability. Hell even Kia/Hyundai are making good cars nowadays! Also If you get a white or black one people are always gonna be doing double takes to make sure you're not a cop

I like the flex, especially the ones with the ecoboost. I heard they fucking haul

 

I think the color is some type of grey... can't remember. Have to find the listing on the web and look at it again.

 

I tried to get the wife to buy a flex, she told me "if you like it so much, you buy one". I'd rather my taco, but maybe one day! They are super underrated in my opinion and can look pretty nice when all the chrome is off them in dark blue.

 

It's grey with black leather.

 

They're practical, but not in the same way my truck is. I wouldn't make that trade either

 

Like my evo - I'm never happy with the setup I choose - Don't get me wrong the kings is a great platform along with all the work I did on the suspension. I just wish ball joints lasted longer.... And I'm just being picky with the rear suspension and wanting more droop. Its not like I wheel hard enough yet but I am adding a full dual swingout high clearance rear so a heavy duty leaf pack would be nice.

 

Hm I'll have to try this because mine are rusted pretty bad.

I think they're kind of weird looking.

I'm consistently impressed by my little 2.7 EcoBoost. The truck is a rocket, and I've been seeing 23+ MPG back and forth to work, which is mostly 40-50 MPH hilly secondary roads. The Tacoma could barely manage 19 on the same route.

This was yesterday before I filled the truck and the mower cans up with ethanol free at Stewart's. Calculated out very slightly less, 23.65, I think.



The tank is effectively E5 now, so it'll be interesting to see if I get slightly better mileage or not.

 

Tell her to go, drive them, and if she likes one give them contact info and some statement about you telling her not a dime over (low ball offer) x amount, then leave. They will contact you and be closer to what they can take.

 

I am always disappointed with the mpg in my Tacoma. I think the longest I went on a tank was like 330ish miles. According to the pump it took 20.5 gallons.
