Long Travel BS Thread

Not sure if this has been asked before, but i am going SUA with the total chaos set and the deaver leafs. I am a 5/10 welder, good but definitely no pro. i planned on welding my new spring perches to the axles without even thinking about it, but then i was reading some nightmares about people bending their axle tubes with the heat from welding new perches. how concerned about this should i be? and has anyone ran into this problem? if so what are the reccomended precautions to prevent it? welding a bead at a time, switching sides and letting it cool in between? thanks

How much for the Archive kit?

 

Weld a little bit at a time, switch sides and maybe 5 min in between. I haven't heard of warping just from spring perches, usually from bigger stuff like a truss that crosses the whole axle

Peoples thoughts on Dakar HDs for a DCSB with SOA and King 2.5s? Going with a +2 kit up front.

Hd's are going to be very stiff if you don't constantly have several hundred lbs in the bed

 

Thankfully I consistently have a steel rear bumper, spare tire, RTT and carrier in the bed. But they have adequate flex and such?
