Overlanding at work today... aka airing out the tent as it's been raining non-stop for the last like year it seems...

 

There actually was a nice looking Tacoma with an RTT on it at BSP while I was there this weekend. I should have snapped a pic but my phone was off when they drove past.

 

Naw, she's too smart for that... I HOPE.

 

I am really bothered by the mileage lately. I’m sick of going to the gas station every other day due to driving 100 miles a day. I get right around 17.5-18mpg right now. Way worse in the winter. Plus the tacoma just has been driving me nuts with how uncomfortable it is to spend that much time in it a day.

Hard to let it go though because I do love the truck and the reliability. Having a sense of security when putting a lot of mileage on my vehicle is a huge plus

My daily was a freighted 3500hd. Hated paying for fuel. But boy did that seat ride nice.

Damn that is a lot of miles. If I'm being nitpicky about the truck too I could do with alot less noise coming into the cabin.

 

That's pretty damn good; I'm assuming your +3% was because your truck doesn't know the new tires?

 

Bingo. Was the same way in Maine up at North woods. 40-60mph and then picking small trails out to explore. It is a bit of a change from my 2011. My 2011 was down to 12mpg any time I hit trails. Which I didn't care about. I more so just kept notes for house hold budgeting

 

Not bad looking. Ecobeast FTW; she'll be able to charge up the on-ramps with that thing pulling, even with 2 parents, 2 kids, 2 Old Fogeys, and their gear.

Yeah, I'm hoping that when I start heading back up to ME for ski season that the back roads will help bump the MPGs. Keeping speed on the tires is the sweet spot for MPGs but 90% of my driving is typically stop & go/shorter distances so mine hurts more often than not.

 

We'll see what happens. First she has to test drive it and see if she likes it. Then we can discuss numbers, etc.

That's where I got mine from as well. Had a good experience, so not opposed to buying from there again.

 

Wind noise is annoying as shit too since i spend the majority of the time on the highway
