I actually got my best deal through my insurance company. I'd like to say it was progressive. They had a dealer put out an offer, I told them I'd shop around, and they dropped the price more. So then I knew there was even more wiggle room. Ended up paying $32.6 OTD on a new 17' DCSB OR. Anyone that wasn't on that list the insurance company gave me wouldn't budge under 34. And all I did was click a button on my app. Not sure if that helps at all.

 

Interesting. Never heard of an insurance company doing something like that. Might need to look into that then. But we'll see what happens tomorrow, and go from there.

First things first. She needs to go drive it and see if she really likes it in person, versus just looking at pics. Then, we'll see. If they are willing to work with us and what we want, we might just go with them and make something happen. But you never know.

I really appreciate the input from everyone. Definitely helps and gives ideas/options on other places to look.

 

But..but...But,
you said a while back she didn't want a 4runner because it was too big....but... Exploders are bigger L&W.

That looks like just an N/A 3.5 to me. I think I'd rather have even the 2.3 EB at that point.

 

And heavier, I don't know who's shopping an Exploder but it will make her ass look fat.

Need something with a 3rd row, and still have some trunk space.

 

I like the exterior styling, not sure why exactly. I think they look best in police interceptor trim. I've never driven one, been in a few of them I didn't care for the large console, or the selection dial for the 4x4/AWD system or what ever is going on there. I'm thinking the 4Runner might be roomier.

 

Luckily the one she saw is at the local Toyota dealership, so I think she's going to look inside the 4Runner as well, to compare.

We'll see what happens.

 

4Runner gets my vote, I should have gotten one. Didn't really need one, and didn't want something that had so many aftermarket parts available like those rear swingouts.

 

Highlanders can be had with 3rd rows too and to be honest probably a car most women will like better because of the nicer ride they give

I think I talked her out of the Pathfinder at lunch today, based on the info earlier, about the issues.

 

Go with her and have her drive the Highlander anyways. It might not be the one she likes from the outside but maybe it's the car she likes overall the most

 

I wish I could go. Can't really take time off of work right now, so that's why I wanted to convince her to go at least drive them by herself tomorrow. If she doesn't want to get into a discussion about buying/pricing/numbers/etc, then she simply tells them not now and walks away. Simple as that.

 

The Highlander is probably the most practical handles like a car, hauls people like a minivan. I like the RX350 but the price, and I think you have to get the 350L for the 3rd row.

Maybe test drive the RX350 then the Highlander, the ride is probably similar.

 

Ultimately it's her decision. It's going to be her car, that she'll drive everyday, so I don't want to make her feel like I'm pushing her in any specific direction. Another reason why I think she should go drive them by herself tomorrow.
