Take it from me, at night you'll want to tie up that hanging tent cover. If it's a windy night, the cover slapping against the side of the truck will f up your clearcoat.

Bonus pic for bolting the tent to the bars/rack. I'm using Tacoma bed rails and t-slot nuts.

Anyone running a Roofnest tent? Specifically the hardshell. I'd love to hear your feedback on it.

Dynatrac ProRock 60 Rear Axle, that is important enough.
If anyone has some hands on with the Roam Adventure Tents, I would like to get some opinions on them. Currently looking at on of the new V3 tents that they are doing a pre-order on and just want some opinions and such on them if possible.

Hey guys. new to this thread not really new to the RTT scene. I have a Smittybilt overland 2 person tent that will have me and my wife inside. all in this will be about 500lbs. im looking to mount this on my Jason bed cap with a DIY prisnu style rack. The cap has a reinforced honeycomb roof as they call it. ive called several cap dealers (ARE LEER Jason) and they all rate there caps at 200lbs static weight. I was wonder what the people with bed caps solution would be.

What do you mean solution? The reinforced hold way more than that static. If yours is reinforced you're fine. Look into bed supports though.

Has anyone converted their soft rtt into a hard-shell? I’m thinking about doing this but looking for ideas. I like my tent but closing it up can be a messy affair. And it would be nice to make the process a little speedier...

So my tent is at the local fedex facility waiting for me to pick it up. I’ve seen the installation for the gofsr high country and it seems pretty straight forward since everything is pre assembled. Has anyone picked up a tent from a fedex facility? How did you load it on your truck? I’m hoping I can have them help me place the tent on my bars and I can secure it in the parking lot rather then having them drop the crate on my truck and have to drive home and try to move it by myself off of the crate.

they will have you sign for it then you're on your own.

FedEx wants nothing but a signature and will not risk an employee injury doing anything else further than bringing the tent to you to sign for.

i think that would depend on the worker and hub. If its in a crate i would assume theyll help load it in the truck.

My thought was to just make a clamshell top that came down around the sides, out of aluminum, and attach it to the floor frame with a piano hinge and support it with gas lift supports.

Bring a friend to help you load it. FedEXmight help you get it out the door, but they aren't going to have a forklift.
