    Hi.

I own a 2016 OR TRD. I also have the cracked TechStream version often mentioned in this 3rd Gen forum.

I use the climate control manually, and whenever I push the A/C button, it simultaneously puts the system into 'recirculation'. I do not like this, as it takes longer to cool the car down when it is already piping hot from being locked up and sitting in the sun. I'd rather the truck bring in fresh air, and exhaust hot air, without me having to deactivate the recirc button.

I have tried using TechStream to change this configuration, so that the 'recirc' does not come on whenever I use the 'A/C' button. But for the life of me, I cannot find the correct parameter to change.

    Does anyone know if :

    1) The 2016 model year does not allow for what I want
    2) My older, non-updated of TechStream cannot allow for this change, or
    3) I simply cannot find the correct sub-menu within TechStream

    Thanks for your help......................... Frank

    As a side note..........

Outside ambient air is maybe 25* cooler. So driving with windows down for about 2 minutes will bring the cab down to ambient.

Just tossing that out in case the Techstream solution is a no go.

Something along those lines is available in the entire headunit settings, I forget exactly that it is though

Yes, I do that now, thank-you.

It really bugs me that Toyota chose to NOT let ME decide if I want it on recir or not. Also, that some supposedly well-meaning engineer got it ass-backwards about the fastest way to cool down the cab, and further decided that the owner is not clever enough to decide for him/herself.

    Again...................... Thanks

I think the head unit setting is an automatic on A/C, not the automatic recirc.

I've got the manual climate control, and depending on OAT (outside air temp) mine goes in to recirc or not when turning the A/C on. Cooler temps, not on.

Maybe your right. I thought I was just crazy but I had remembered it not turning on but the last few months it always did turn on the recirc so now I am not sure
