    Hey all,

I have a question about my leafs shifting and wanted to hear if this has happened to anyone and what the causes could be.

I have searched the forums quickly, but didn't see much about it.

So...After a few days in Colorado I have a very squeaky leaf pack. Taking a look under the truck I found that my passenger side leafs had shifted so much that one of them had cut through the rubber inlay and pressed against the metal coupling. Have a look at the pics. Both sides have shifted but the passenger side is in contact with the coupling.

SO far mostly what I have found is that it can be due to loose U-Bolts allowing for shifting and that loosening the U-bolts and hammering the leafs back to alignment is the typical solution.

    Thoughts - Experience?

There is a center pin/bolt that ties all the leaf springs together, correct?

Good question. Let's rule out the obvious in diagnosing this. It's not a common issue OP.

Yup there are center pins that should be holding the leafs in alignment, everything is accounted for and nothing is sherd off. I was unable to get any play/movement when the leafs were loaded. U bolts dont seem to be loose, but from what I understand they will look and feel tight but will have a little play allowing the leafs to shift when they are not torqued to spec or installed properly.
