Made an appointment for this morning to preform the TSB 0062-18 update, I have a 2018 TRD Sport and about 1500 miles. I have had all the same shifting errors as many of you are talking about. My dealer was very receptive on bring it in. So far great customer service, will see about that later today. Details on service and functionality to follow....... Fingers are crossed.

How did you replicate the stumble? For me it’s been random times, months apart, and I can never invoke the action. My dealer isn’t working with me on this until they experience it themselves.

My toyota was nice enough to do that TSB. Made an appointment over the phone and complained about the stumbling as the TSB states.

Waiting for it to be done.

When you use the SSP you're using the truck's "S-mode." There is no learning in S-mode. The truck only learns your driving habits when you're in D, so you'll have to drive aggressively in D in order for it to learn that style.

FYI.. I am on the east cost of FL, about as damned close to 0 altitude -definitely LOW altitude. I quoted symptoms from 62-18 and 58-18 as well as a few others I have experienced. My dealership did the update and listed 62-18 on the service report as well as mentioning only the 62 symptoms.

@shwokee I told the service writer if he wanted to duplicate the issue he could pull out of the dealership across northbound traffic by flooring it from a standstill. Told him I guaranteed he would be worried about getting safely across the oncoming traffic and likely need a new pair of shorts. He replied that the tech would be test driving it and that he would pass on my warning.

I think the real issue with a dealership denying it is the quality of the particular dealership. A mechanic can make more doing your 5, 10, 15, or 20K service than this update so there may be resistance from the mechanics. A good dealership will point out that the truck will be FAR more likely to keep returning for routine, easy money, services if the owner is happy. Keep the owner happy by completing every possible request and "redirecting" the owner when they are asking for tasks that can not be done for safety and reliability.

So, is it worthwhile to start a thread to track which dealerships are performing the TBS no questions asked, who are requiring a test to confirm and who are refusing?

Possibly it’s the result of it being a “intuitive transmission” how the computer inturprets your driving habits and how it adjusts to maximize MPG. Not that it returns to the older flash version in the sense of programming. It just starts acting badly again to save on fuel consumption. By no means am I an engineer, just an opinion. Only time will tell if the latest version will hold the improvements

of course. the closest dealership to me says they have no clue what TSB I’m talking about after doing 5 minutes of research...anyone know which dealership does this no questions asked in the Los Angeles area?

Quick question, how did you replicate the stumble condition? I do feel jerking between 40-50 mph . I have scheduled service for 10k for next week and already discussed TSB with the service adviser. Just want to be prepared..
    Thanks.

hahahah, obviously never lived in my state. We don't have high altitude. 1 to 2 month wait to get a service appointment, roll in and say you want 0062 and they say "we don't have high altitude so this doesn't apply to you" and out you go. Wanna "do over" and try again at another dealership? Tough titty, we have 3 on this island, all the same owner. Our dealers can deny whatever they like cause they are the only game here. Wanna move to the mainland and get it done there? Sorry, Hawaii trucks aren't covered under Toyota of America warranty and likewise if you want to send your truck down here they won't honor your ToA warranty. Granted, you can get around all that by re registering your vehicle by changing your VIN but that's kinda a pain in the ass. Hell, we don't even get the entune app down here.

Do TSB 0058. It’s the same calibration as 0062. In hawaii you can’t call toyota customer service and complain? Toyota will send out an email to that dealership and they have to respond with 2 business days.

This! It is a damn safety issue regardless of altitude! I was afraid to pull out of a parking lot prior to the update.

yes, I know, I've been saying that for awhile now. My response was to another member that said 0058 was not a current flash and that everyone should use the 0062 TSB.

Respects and you are correct, I have never lived in Hawaii or dealt with SERVCO, but I have dealt with GST and SET...and their Dealerships are not always known for being the most user friendly either. The 58 in not the same as the 62, but if you "qualify" for the 58, why not ask them to just do the 62 instead...once you get past all their BS. Takes the same amount of time to load...and the Mechanic won't care either way.
