Why do you not have one of these yet?

I bought this one quite a few years ago and it has served me well with both of my camera's. When I upgraded all I needed to do was buy a $7 cord to connect to my new camera. Works really well in all modes and I've been really happy with it. When I bought it it was $70 so the price has come down some. Looks like they also changed it to just use AAA's now also. You can use it wireless or wired to the camera. It's a lot of features for little money.

    What camera are you using?

I had actually bought one a few months ago, but of course, in true Chinamazon fashion, the cord did not connect to my camera, even though it specifically said it was for my camera. I've yet to order another since then.... I'll maybe order another one today, hopefully it'll be a real one and not some cheap shit, again.

I do a lot of night photography (It's my favorite) so I bought one way back there. Lot of things you can do with it. You can also add in different things to make it even more interesting like stop motion. Here's one I did with the camera set up with the remotes for the strobes along with using the wireless remote above while I was driving the ambulance around the station.

[IMG]_DSC5931-Edit by Murphy Lege, on Flickr

    Here was the setup:

My remote is a older version so it's a little different than the new ones but it's the same model.

The flash on the camera was triggering the other strobe on the stand though the Nikon CLS system. The flash remote was triggering the studio flash on the other stand. Then the remote release was with me in the truck as I was driving.

What I did with the photo above was to do a long exposure of 8 seconds. I had the camera set on rear curtain sync for the flash. That made the camera fire the flash at the end of the exposure. That's how I got the streak of the ambulance and lights and then a photo that was stopped of the ambulance at the end. Basically the flash firing at the end stopped the motion of the truck moving.

So if you want to shoot in broad daylight, get or use your 10x ND filter, you can actually shoot 30 sec exposures!! Tape up you eye piece, light can squeeze in there. Try out different exposure times/IOS/ and F-stops. The hardest part is finding time in our busy schedules, hmmm, maybe after work :(

How long was this exposure? Rules man, gotta follow the rules! Great shot though.

True for old film SLRs, but there are now some exceptions. For instance, this wouldn't apply to the Fuji X Series cameras that look like a SLR, because they have a digital viewfinder so there isn't really a prism there and its not open to the sensor/film.

I think it's probably better to have the extra features and not want them, than to want them in the future and not have them.:notsure:

I got the pixel 283 a little over a month ago and I’m pretty happy with it. I haven’t used all of the features yet, but I got my canon at the end of June. It’s my first big boy camera, I thought the photography hobby would be cheaper then the Tacoma hobby.
    :spending: I was mistaken:notsure:
