Of course, but every bit of info has the potential to help someone out or change a dealer's mind.

I'll post a pic of the calibration ID on the first post but your SOL on the work order. There wasn't one because as a tech I don't need to generate one. Decided it was to much of a pain in the ass to ask a service advisor to open a work order. :D

My dealer told me they wouldn't put it on the work order because since it says AT for the update so the technician is just going to update it without any documentation

until maybe we get lucky with a low end torque TT setup, i also think it's just gonna be hardware limited like this. this is where i agree with the 2nd gen guys.

Yeah in OBD fusion you select "Diagnostics" on the main screen, then choose the "Report" icon at the bottom. The list that comes up includes "Vehicle Information (Mode $09)". Select that and your call ID should come up. Of course, you need to be connected to the dongle first and the ignition must be on.

    I mean .. it’s a gutless midsize V6 in a borderline full-size body. It’s crying for help.

Still, way better than the stock tune. Except my MPG. I miss the days of 22mpg.

New member here...upgraded my '17 from 04b12 to 04b13 tonight. Can confirm that a USB Kvaser cable will work as a J2534 interface.

If anyone in SE Michigan needs the calibration update, I'd be glad to help with the reflash!

The MT TSB is out, it's just the wording that's all messed up.

    Hello all,

I have this Mini-VIC j2534 that I use to change settings on my trunk but I cannot flash this update to the ECU. Attached is the errors I have having when trying to add the VIN or flash.

This is what I get when I try to add the VIN

when I try to see the VIN

This is what happens when I try to flash

    My current build

Not sure if anything could give me some pointers or help me out. Neetheless i'm out of warranty, so getting the dealership to help is all most out of question.

I am doing this in virtual box if that makes a difference.

Mini VCI adapter lets you customize a few things but not fully flash the ECU.

    You'll need a Tactrix adapter $169 https://www.tactrix.com/index.php?p...m_virtuemart&Itemid=53&redirected=1&Itemid=53
or a Mongoose adapter like the dealers use for $495 here http://www.drewtech.com/mongoose/toyota2.html

I know the Chinese made some knock off tactrix openport for 1/10th the price of the real one, but who knows what kind of problems you may run into later. Why don't you support the real American made Tactrix adapter made right in San Francisco, they ship Fedex fast.

What is up with that first link for the Tactrix cable? Assuming you pasted the wrong thing...?

Since the TSB wording singles out the MT. Would calling corporate have any effect on re-publishing the TSB think contain both AT and MT. If everyone started calling and discussing with them all the issues we have with getting this done. I have no idea how this works. Might be a totally stupid and fruitless idea. It’s just crazy to me they would creat this update and then squirrel it away I n some AT TSB. if they were still trying to work things out or improve upon it why list our ECU. Seems like it would be a big mistake to have that kind of typo in software. Again I have no idea if we could have any influence or bring it to there attention or if we would update probably just get dusted off. I would love to go to my dealer and attempt this but am not willing to drive 3hrs and drop my truck off to have someone tell me to get lost. Hopefully things change soon. If they don’t I guess I’ll throw down some cash. However would like to have it done for free since this is what I payed for.
