I've always used the jack to hold it up against the leafs with some pressure, muscle one center pin in and use the leverage to get the next one in. That way everything is supported and I don't have time fight the leafs to get the shackles in.

I dunno I guess there's just more than one way to skin a cat in this scenario lol.
I will say that for whatever reason the All Pros were 10x easier to line everything up than the Dakars were. Once the springs were in the perch, both eyes on either side were nearly lined up and required little fanangling to get bolts in. The Dakars were a much bigger pain in the ass as far as that went.

Ive removed my leafs twice and had no issues with lining up the axle. If you do as @Speedytech7 said keep pressure on it and do one at a time, he should have no issues. Honestly youre the only one Ive seen attach the leaf to the axle before you did your shackles and it gave you problems. All the write ups I looked at have Ubolts last. You got it done so it worked. Just didnt look like the easiest method

Old Tacoma beds are excellent work areas.

I wouldn't bother with the POR15, it won't hold up on those. But a nice pressure wash is always good

I saw a little rust where the pin meets the axle. Probably won’t do much but I’ll clean it up a little.

so what I did when it was time to drop the center pin, raise the axle slightly off the stands - just barely - then use the ratchet strap to bring it in-line so the center pin dropped. with the axle on the jack it rolled along lol - wasn't but an inch or two. Made it really easy. Once that center pin was in, off to ubolts with the wheelers super bumpstop

No thanks haha honestly leafs are super easy, just heavy and kind of awkward. But sua has to have an easy way. I feel like there is always an easiest method, sometimes it takes 45 min to learn the 15 min method haha

You'll never see that part unless you remove them, also it'll rub right off all my leafs are bald there.
