    I am really curious though to do a few tests to see how long my oil is lasting, and even more so to see what kinda shape my engine is in for its age

    Same I'm doing it for both the oil and engine. I'll do it again when I think the color is to dark for me to say it's good.

    They can roughly tell the condition of the engine from one sample though right? Assuming it's a good sample and it contaminated or anything?
